Who is going with a strapless gown? I am, but I have never worn anything strapless before! So it should be interesting...LOL! If you want to share a pic that would be cool. Mine is by Demetrios, but the pic is too big for me to post. It is a young sophisticates #YS-173.

Just be careful to move around in the gown after your fitting. Dance in it, if the top starts to fall they need to fit it better. Too often girls don't move in their gowns until the big day.

wow - - so many gorgeous strapless gowns. I never thought I would get one until I started looking..then everyone I tried on was strapless.

Christy-my mfg is Mariana Hardwick. She is an Australian designer...never heard of her before I found this dress.

V&S03 - They did call it aline in the store. But usually when I hear aline I think of a little more flowy/poofy than this dress. It isn't too tight (actually has a little crinoline under there) but not too poofy either. So I am not sure what to call it.

bridetobe- Thanks for getting back to me. It's a beautiful dress, does it have some sort of embroidery on it? it's hard to tell in the picture. Also what material is it?

Thanks so much..It feels good when someone else likes your dress. The picture does not do it any justice at all. The dress is actually ivory in color. The entire dress is detailed. There is embroidery, pearls, crystals, and even sequins...done very delicately that is doesn't look gawdy at all. It kind of gives it an antique feel.

I wrote to my mfg to ask the fabric and this is a quote from her 'The fabric your gown is in is a beaded and embroidered silk georgette.
It is pure silk and quite delicate.' I am so not a fashion person..so it means little to me.

Let's see if this picture shows the detail better.

It really is a beautiful dress, your FH will be so in awe when he sees you come down the aisle. You definitely have to post pictures of your wedding so we can see you in it. What do your BM dresses look like?

Thanks you so much V. You are really making me smile. My BM dresses are bordeaux Dessy/After Six dresses. I let my 6 girls pick their own dresses so I have 4 different styles.

bridetobe- I'm wearing a strapless dress in ivory also and my BM are wearing JimHjelm dresses in a deep wine color. I love the contrast of my dress next to theirs.

Make sure that you check the boning (if you have any) on your gown before it leaves the store. When they pressed my gown, they melted the boning at the top of my dress, which ended up poking through the dress on the inside. I didn't notice it until I put the gown on two days later on the moring of my wedding. If I hadn't had moleskin to cover the edges, I would have been bleeding within a half hour.
And I bought my gown at a high end boutique, so be careful. Most places make you sign a waver when you take the gown away saying that it's in good condition, so I had not a leg to stand on.

I unfortunately do not have a scanner and my friends is broken so I can't post anything. As soon as I can I definitely will. I love how everyone is so into their plans and how I'm able to see everyones faces and dresses, etc. It looks like we do have similar tastes, what kind of flowers are you using? I'm using white and light pink peonies with a touch of black magic roses for bouquets. Centerpieces will be same but with added fruit, their really pretty hard to expalin them.
