For the girls who are waiting to TTC and just read this board, do you ever doubt your decision to wait and feel that you should try now??? Are you worried about fertility (like I am)?

Re: Just to liven this board up...
I am almost 4 years older than my DH. I have been trying to put the idea into his head to TTC for the middle of next year. I do not want to wait to closer to 35 if I can help it. I am afraid I will have trouble getting pregnant. I am making sure that I am taking prenatals and I am looking for a new doctor and hospital. (The doctor I have now is OK but don't 'love' them or the hospitals affiliated with them).
I think we have come to a decision that we will soon be ready. I do not think there is a 'right' time. We have been together for almost 8 years. I feel I am ready!

I am definetly worried. We will be ttc by Oct/Nov. (We just quit smoking and I want to get used to it before we get pregnant,) and I want to take the pre-natals for a while also.
I have PCOS, so I already know I will probably have a hard time. I was diagnosed years ago, and have already discussed with gyno re: ttc on our own for only two months, than Clomid, for 4, than stronger if needed. I will also see an RE from the beginning. We hope that these measures will help in making in less time for us to conceive (God willing).

Re: Just to liven this board up...
Infertility crosses my mind all the time especially when I see so many people having such difficulties. I then ask myself the question what makes me any different?? I put my faith in God and I know if its suppose to happen for me, but as human the doubt does seep in. One thing I can say w/o a doubt I do not time my body or interaction with my husband, I have not gotten to that point yet or the point where if AF comes I am upset, I guess I am a bit more on the patient side.

shamma. I need to meet your mom. My only conclusion is that you were raised by an absolute saint... with faith that can honestly move mountains. I aspire to adopt your peace about things. I hope it's catchy!

Re: Just to liven this board up...
My hubby and I were planning on TTC 9/04, after 2 years of being married. Then we 'negotiated' May 2004. Just recently we were talking and I told him that I didn't know what we're waiting for. A few days later he said the same thing...that he doesn't know why we're waiting either So now we're planning on TTC in January to give me time to take some vitamins, get in better shape, and to squeeze in a few awesome vacations :) I just went for a blood test to find out if I have the antibodies for Rubella this morning (if I don't have the antibodies, she wants to immunize me, and I have to wait 3 months to TTC). Now I have to go buy those vitamins! Like Dawn I too have to find a new doctor. I currently go to a Nurse Practitioner and I don't think she can deliver me. Does anyone know if that's right?
As much as I want this, my stomach is still turning with nervousness now that we're actually approaching TTC!
Good luck to all those approaching or trying to TTC. It is such an excting time!!

Re: Just to liven this board up...
Jenny, my faith has gotten better over the years. I have seen many women who live fulfilling lives w/o children, and if I am infertile, I always have the option to adopt. I spoke to some women in my church who are not married and they said not all people are meant to be married and I now feel the same way about children, not all people are made to be parents. I can't miss what I never had. I do one day hope to have a child or children, but I will not set myself up to be disappointed. Children are a blessing from God and when he sees fit to bless me or not bless me I will be content.
I wish all those that are trying to conceive patience and faith.
