Re: just venting

Thanks for all of your posts and FM's girls! Sometimes its good just to get it out there, just so that I'm not the only one dwelling on these feelings...

Re: just venting

Yea its tough and we all have our good days and bad days but planning this wedding and buying a house is taking alot out of me. I feel like I am constantly stressed and on edge, I get pissed off at the drop of a dime and I am anxious. Thank god I am lucky enough to have friends and family that can put up with me being under all this stress, they have really gone above and beyond for me.

I feel like instead of going out and having fun all I do is think and plan for the wedding. Dont get me wrong I love every minute of planning this wedding but it gets very stressful at times and I feel like not too many people understand that. Instead of going out and having a good time I am always doing calculations to make sure we can afford things and worrying that we cant. I have done little things here and there to try and make myself feel better like buying bathing suits for my honeymoon, getting manicures and pedicures, going tanning. I am even going for a massage and going to get my hair totally recolored in another 2 weeks so this will give me something to look forward to. I just miss the days of just being carefree and doing things spur of the moment without worrying. I feel like I have turned into a constant worry wart If its not one thing its another. I will stop worrying about the wedding planning and then I will worry about redecorating the house or having money to buy clothes for the honeymoon etc. I can go on and on

Overall I am trying to just enjoy this time because once its over its over. This is one of the best times of our lives so we just have to remember that. All this hard work will pay off when we have a beautiful wedding and nice place to come home to afterwards.

Not to beat a dead horse, but, how ironic is this. I go to the supermarket... low and behold - I see a penny on heads! I pick it up! good luck, righT? Well, on the way home my groceries spill out all over the back seat, including my little thing of organic strawberries, all out of their package! Goddam.

Re: just venting

I absolutely sleep to escape from the things I feel I am not doing right or well enough... I also eat to make myself feel better === not a good combination. You are absolutely not alone. I think the values that our society has makes it almost impossible NOT to feel a little like this.

I know exactly how you feel. I've felt like this everyday for the past 3 years or so. About a year ago I finally broke down and started taking meds for my problems. I wouldn't leave the house for days it was so bad. I even recently found out that because it has been so bad, I most likely will be on this medication for life.

I still have many problems, but if you need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Sweetheart, I know you're hurting, and I have experienced some of the feelings you've described. All I can offer is, 'I care about you, and love you, because you're you!!!!' I will be praying for you, hon!! Mary MOB

Re: just venting

I just started crying after I read your post and everyone elses posts. PS - Fh is staring at me and asking what is wrong!

Anyway...I know how u feel. Sometimes I have aminosity towards the wedding bc it leaves me with no money to do the things that make me happy! I work in the city and have to look at hundreds of beautifully dressed people...wearing cute belted jackets and matching boots, fancy bags, etc. Then I look at my boring editor pants that I have in every boring color and my shoes that have worn down heels, etc and I just get so mad. I also pick on myself...every year it is harder and harder to get in shape, etc....I have a problem with this getting old thing. I work out a lot but its never good enough and I am never happy about my body.

As for the stuck in a rut and same routine...I go thru phases and lately I am ok with our routine. We still make time and money for dinners out and weekend getaways and this is a saving grace for us.

Just know that u r not alone. If u can afford to quit one job....I would. It will give u more time to yourself and u will feel so good and free.

Re: just venting

I can totally relate, I think we are all stressed out and living in poverty all for one day . Seriously, I just read eveyone's posts and I want to hug everyone. I really, really believe that this is a transitional time for us all and that 'this too shall pass.' That's not to negate our feelings now of couse... but I don't think they're forever.
Hugs to all the wonderful brides on LIWeddings!!!!

Re: just venting

i am having knots in my stomach everyday, i am having anxiety and not used to this. I cant wait until the day we get married so i dont constantly have a long A** to do list that just never ends it will be nice after the wedding to spend alot more freely, to buy stuff JUST because, to go out more like we used to, fh and I used to eat out a couples times a week and i miss that ... I definitely understand the whole routine thing, and yes part of it you love bc you two are so comfortable with eachother but at the same time i miss that spontaneous side, i miss the fun and adventure. WE have a great time together but we are two ppl who like to go out and do things so to hold ourselves back now we definitely do miss it. I just hate having to fall into a routine. Now dont get me wrong i am VERY excited for the day to come but i just want that day to come already not to pass i wont say that bc that just sounds different, i want the day to be here, enjoy every second, then leave for our HM and then come back and start our lives and go back to our normal lives lol well it will be different lol but not where EVERYTHING just revolves around the wedding. We have to pay x amount now to this vendor and that vendor and then all of a sudden you have about 6 vendors to pay, so many things for the wedding such as accessories and all this other stuff. Spend your weekends running around getting everything done . I cant wait until i can plan fun weekends, little getaways, nice dinners and that sort of stuff. Yes we will have a mortgage to pay but that is a set amount you have every month. Not the insane amount of money you have to come up with in a short period of time now lol.

Sorry im rambling but with the stress and anxiety its getting to me lately lol. The whole routine thing i hear you too and can't wait to get out of this routine.

Hopefully once the wedding is over you dont have to work as many jobs, i think that will definitely help take some pressure and stress off of you it will also be alot easier to get out of your routine. Have a fun newlywed life, enjoy it bc you know what we're still young. Focus more on yourself and do things that make you feel happy and beautiful. I hope things get better for you just remember even now to take some time out for yourself and step away from all the craziness at the moment.

Re: just venting

WOW seems like most of us are going through the same thing as we get closer to our weddings. When its far it seems so far and you want it to come already but planning is also a bit easier, especially when you first get into it. But seeing so many of you ladies saying that after 2 years, 1.5 years, 1 year of planning its like you can't take it anymore hahahaha. You definitely go through different phases while planning.

I remember always hearing girls say 'i just want this day to come already im so tired of all this' i promised myself i would never feel that way. I dont want the day to just pass like i said but the closer it gets, it just cant come fast enough hahaha. For a while now i have made the most of planning and no matter what problems came up still tried to stay positive bc i wanted to enjoy every moment of it. And it worked up until just recently lol.

Dont worry girls we're almost there

Re: just venting

I am so glad you started this post because it actually made me feel better knowing I am not the only one feeling like this. Sometimes I feel guilty for feeling this way because some people dont even have weddings or go on honeymoons or buy a house I know I am very lucky but the stress and anxiety *****.
