So at my job, I used to work for one division but switch position to working for the president, but mind you I still do a ton of stuff for people in my old division and whenever they need help I am always there to help them. Also, I am still on the same floor as them and on the same side so I see these people every day.
So, as a tradition, they do a birthday cake for everyone on their birthday (everyone except me for some reason, but whatever).
A new intern just started here TODAY and it happens to be her birthday... and they frigin got her a cake! Now, I'm sorry, I let it slide that for the past 3 years that I have worked here my birthday comes and goes with no acknowledgment, but seriously, an intern on day one of her job gets her birthday recognized and I have yet to!
Yeah, I guess the idea of them throwing any sort of bridal shower for me here is probably out of the question as well.

I dont blame you at all for being upset...you spend so much of your time with these people helping them and just even being with them. I'm sorry that they made you feel this way, I dont understand it. I feel bad.

I mean the people I work directly for (my bosses) acknowledge my birthday (they take me out for lunch) but I don't go parading around telling everyone it's my birthday. BUT they do have a list of all the birthdays in the company and that's how they know even if people don't say it's their birthday that day. Plus especially this year 3 people said happy birthday to me the day of my brithday which rippled into everyone wishing me happy brithday but they didn't do the whole cake thing.
It's just really annoying and it makes me not want to go out of my way for these people the way I do.

FH had just called me, so I told him what happened and he said,
'Babe, it doesn't matter if those a-holes don't acknowledge your birthday, because I acknowledge your birthday because I love you and I am happy you were born'. He's such a nerd but adorable haha

It's just sad that you prob spend more time with those people than you spend with your own family...and they treat you like that. It *****, and I feel your pain!! Just hop on here and we will spread some love for you!! haha
