Just wanted to share...

My dress shopping experience from yesterday....

after going to 4 places i thought i should come up with a list...a list of things that i def did not want, things i knew i wanted and the details that i loved....i thought this would be helpful...

stop 1....bridal reflections in massapequa...i was hesitant bec of the mixed reviews but figured it was stil worth a shot. I requested tina as suggested and made the apt in which they were beyond sweet. Tina actaully called me the next day to let me know that she was not in on the day and time i made the apt for. She gave me her hours and offered to resch the apt for me. I thought this was beyond nice but bec my mom and i never have the same sch i left it as it.

We got there, filled at the paperwork, awaited the bride in front of me to finish her apt and so on. I told the consultant who has nice everything on my list and she started pulling. There was not much that she pulled that met my list. She kept telling me how a bride should look in her eyes. It was a bit frustrating but i was trying to enjoy the experience, so i went with it.

There was also a trunk show going on and she kept pulling all of that designers work. So finally we get to a dress my mom and i love! However the waist is way too much of a drop waist...so i ask if they have anything else like it....she kind of was like well why dont we finish trying on what i pulled...i said well this is really more of what i am looking for...so she goes and gets one more dress...i liked it...ALOT but i was not entirely sure and really wanted to try on more dresses just like it....but at that time, the hour was just about up! so it was time for her to finish us up and leave. She wrote everything down, we said we would be back, to bring my grandma and maybe try on more dresses.
i do want to say that the woman was very nice, it was just that se was not getting my vision.

ok so then we went on over to moonlight coture in merrick. Again very nice! they let us go through there selection, i could just tell they did not quite have what i was looking for but i was open to try everything on.

So they were also having a trunk show and they were also pushing the dresses. (Side note: every dress in that store had a price-except the trunk show dresses, and when they gave us the price of the dresses in the trunk show, i felt like they were VERY high- it was also a 20% discount, i feel they may have taken all tags off to jack up the price to say they were giving 20% off and still make just as much as normal). I wasnt in love with anything i tired on, however, my mom found 2 dresses she loved (good selection) and they had an awesome head piece collection!

so after this apt my mom and i were feeling like we were going backwards in the dress search. So we thought where else we could go...I remembered Lauren (Laurenandmike618) saying she got her dress from Paradise Bridals in patchougue. My mom was like just give them a call and see if they could fit us in. So i called, so sweet, they had the apt and we went on over. It was a bout 35-40 min from me with a little bit of traffic. We go there and holy moly do they have HUGE selection of everything! Bridal, mother, brides maids and tuxes!

I tell the lady what I am looking for, i tell her my price range and she went to work ( you can also pull and go thru the racks here too ladies!) she totally got what i was talking about! Also an awesome thing here, when you are trying on dresses they shut off the main lights and put on reception lighing so you can see your dress in those lights too!

Barbara (who helped) was beyond patient and helpful! She never made me feel rushed and was like dont you worry, i am here till 8! We narrowed it down to two dresses that i love, and im def leaning more towards one than the other!!

They also have an amazing head piece and veil collection! They also carry thomas knoell who does shows there. My mom went thru the dresses and found one that me, and the two ladies helping her just loved! So we are going back on the 18th with grandma to try on and what not...

i know i have some time but i have tried on well over 100 dresses in 7 stores and these two just made me giggle!

so we shall see!

Sorry this is so long but i wanted to share!
