A friend of mine had a beautiful little boy at the end of March. She and her husband decided to get the child a talent agent when he was 2 months old. He has been booking a lot of jobs and is helping to support his parents. I understand that he has a great temperament (that is the real talent at that age) and that his parents aren't doing well financially, but I was trying to figure out if this is something that I would do. Thought I would open the topic for discussion.

Re: Just wondering...
if the opportunity presents itself i would definitely give it some serious consideration. and if my baby seems to be having some fun during the first couple of jobs then why not continue it.

I was just thinking of this exact thing last night. My answer is no. I would never put my child into that business---unless/until they were old enough to ask me to let them to.

Re: Just wondering...
I thikn I might at that age. More so than when they are school aged.
If the kid sodoesn't mind it it can be a good way to make some moeny. I would probably invest it for him though, so college or house buying or whatever would be a little easier when he was older.
I don't know if I would do it to support myslef, but if that means the baby can have a better life (in the present) I might.

I would love to do that for Alia, especially now that she is a little bit older. She is so friendly and happy that I know it wouldn't be a problem.

I Agree. I think for the child to 'work' it should be with the minset for their future. I would also hope the parents decide on what is overworking, too early, late, for their child (not what some law might say)
My thoughts exactly.

Re: Just wondering...
Honestly, I am not sure. I mean, in a way, the mom is working too, since I am assuming she is the one bringing him to all the appointments and shoots. I think I would have a problem, however with having my child work to support us, instead of putting that money away for his/her future.
On the other hand, if the mom had to go to work and leave the child all day in day care, is that a better solution? I don't know, this way she gets to be with her child all day, doing something they both might enjoy. So this is why I voted 'no idea.'
The problem I have with some of these parents is that they seem to be living vicariously through their kids. I used to ride the train to school in the city and would see some of the moms on the train with the kids. There was this one attractive mom that seemed to be doing it more to get attention for herself than the child. And she seemed to ignore her other, less attractive son. It really bothered me. (but I don't mean to imply your friend is like that.)
