When it comes to trying to make a deal with a RH do you just ask for a discount or wait for them to offer one?
We just started looking, we have seen about 5, there are 2 that I really like so far and I was wondering if it is appropriate to ask them to come down on the price per person or to throw in something.
Any advise or opinions would help.

Re: Just Wondering -RH Question
i definatly asked if there was anyway that we can do something to bring down the price and if that doesnt work i definatly made it known that maybe if they gave me something else i would possibly be very interestied in booking. i also explained to them that i absolutly loved the place but it was a little out of my budget believe me if you let them know what u r willing to spend pp they will work something out for you. im getting married in the off season so alot of places can really use the buisness that time of year

Re: Just Wondering -RH Question
You should ask for them to lower the price. I was able to negotiate with the RH that I booked at. I would compare all the prices of the RH's you looked at and then start to negotiate. Tell a RH, ' I really like your hall but I can only afford to pay X, and this other hall that I like quoted me X, what can you do.' Also, look at the price differences between winter and summer months and friday's and saturdays; this will give you an idea how how much leeway you have. You could also try to get them to throw extra options in. I was also able to negotiate down the price of an extra hour. Hope this helps!

OMG, totally negotiate! If you're not good at negotiating, than let FH do it! By all means, let the hall know what you are looking for and see what they offer you. I'm going to tell you, its not easy and it can get stressful. We went back to our hall 3 times to negotiate price. But its very worth it in the end! Halls love the challenge of negotiating, and if they are not willing, keep looking.
Let me know how it goes! :)

We negotiated... and were flexible. We changed my date to get a lower price, and just straight out said: We don't have that much money, can we add stuff in for that price or take stuff out?
Everyone's hurting in this economy they'll bend to your will, trust me.
