We made a few exceptions: nieces and nephews were allowed. Guests traveling from out of state, or out of the country, with young children.

Our exceptions will be flower girls and ring bearer and FH first cousin who I think might be 15 or 16 by the time of the wedding.

Our exceptions will be my FH's children and his nieces and nephew whom we see everyday! [They live around the block from us!]

Fh and I are allowing children 12 and older and the flower girl who is 4. Basically we want the grandparents to be able to enjoy the wedding and not chasing grandchildren whose parents never watch them.

We only had 2 kids at our wedding, our ringbearer and flowergirl. We didnt specify adults only, we just addressed the invite to Mr. and Mrs. Also, my response card had regrets and then # attending (instead of accepts). This helped my sister when she did it cause one of her DHs friends responded with 3 (him, his girlfriend and her kid!) They were able to tell him before the wedding that they were having no kids.

There are no exceptions for us. We may/may not have RB and we arent having a FG (too many kids and I dont want to hurt anyones feelings) But we decided a looong time ago that we didnt want any kids at our reception. The RB thing was just sprung on us.
