I downloaded some songs and they were a mess, some didn't finish the song and some cut out after 30 seconds, some had strange noises in the middle, is there anything I am doing wrong?

That's happened to me too and I didn't find out until I was listening to the CD I made in my car It's just a corrupt song/file. There's nothing you did wrong.

no...this can happen on any system....
either people get cut off when they were downloading...so the song didn't finish...
or
the artists are making a campaign to put bad songs into these sites...to discourage people from dling...
you just have to keep trying...also pay attention to the file size when you chose a song to DL
ETA: I usually go through my songs and check a few parts of the song...before burning onto a CD

I downloaded songs from Kazaa but stopped because of the fines. I know other sites are charging . Is kazaa still free?

I also stopped using the sight because of the fines. I heard that lately that a lot of songs are either messed up, or a total different song altogether because the record companies are trying to mess with it. Whether or not there are companies making a point of doing this, I don't know, but that might be the reason.

this happened to me as well. i downloaded all these tracks from one albulm and IT WAS THE SAME SONG! OVER AND OVER AGAIN!! Very frustrating. Another song was dubbed in 'meows' instead of the words to the song?! Bizarre.
I also noticed the other night it was taking longer than usual to download and they kept canceling them on me....

ive already deleted it... but i remember that some songs werent what they said they were... some were only clips... the gold color ones are suppose to be only clips... that might be your problem...

Is Kazza free? ARe you allowed to download songs from there. I remember hearing that it's illegal to download songs online. Is that true?

I use Kazaa lite and its free...but it looks like you pay for the software? but there are ways to get around it

I know that Dr Dre/Eminem/50 Cent (I guess since they are all from the same record co they do the smae) and Madonna have an active campaign to put bad songs into all of these sites

ditto I always check the time .. Mostly you can tell if a song is incomplete if its less than a minute and a half. Or you can check the time with amazon to make sure if you're unsure.
