Keep in mind, all Westbury Manor Brides

Keep in mind, all Westbury Manor Brides

I had actually considered WM at first. My bridesmaid and I went, it was absolutely beautiful. The outside was amazing, with the exotic birds, ponds and all. However, we were lucky enough to go when they were busy so that we could see exactly how it can get in there.

We were highly dissatisfied. First, we were ignored for the first 20-30 min. There were bridal parties mixed up with people coming in from the public to dine at their restaurant. There was just too much going on. People were very busy in the lobby, bumping into each other, stepping on each others dresses.

There was a Korean wedding ceremony going on at the time. The lobby was very loud and distracting, yet the BM and the Maitre' D actually opened up the doors to the ceremony while crying children, the ringing of cell phones and people bickering could be heard as the couple was trying to finish up their ceremony. Upon exiting, my MOH and I were actually in the brides path, along with a bunch of other people who had to do the 'excuse me, pardon me' thing to get out of her way as she exited her ceremony!!!! I was appalled at the service and the commotion affecting her day, and in turn i chose NOT to have mines there for fear of repetition.

The BM admitted to me that this was a rather busy day for them, but I figured if it was that busy on the coldest day in January, it must be worse in the summer on a nice warm day. He assured me that whenever i book, there will be another event going on. Maybe not a wedding, but another event.

Scenery is good. But SERVICE is important..you only get one wedding day..hopefully

I don't know why you are pointing out WM but it is not the only place that has more than one event at a time - most places are like that

i agree with rita, places like WM and others have this down to a science....it might seem choatic, but they have it under-control...will something go wrong, maybe, but in a place like WM they have seen it all to know how to handle the situation.

I couldn't agree more, SERVICE is extremely important!

That being said, sorry that you had a bad experience. I happend to have attended a wedding there in august, 8-8-08 actually, which was one of THE busiests wedding days last year and the service was impeccible!

I'm sure you are just trying to look out for us, but I don't think we have much to be worried about! Thanks for the heads up though!

i was nervous about this too which is why i only looked at rh's with 1 event at a time.

however, i agree with the other girls that these halls are so used to having multiple events i am sure they have it under control!

exactly if we were so worried about this we would have booked at a place with one event

No problem. Not singling them out, but I just happened to be unhappy with what was displayed that day. Im sure they do throw nice events, I've heard wonders about them. It just wasn't my style that day. Thats all

Think of it this way, if you were ignored for 20-30 min, then thats probably a good thing because that means the events taking place were the main priority. You would want your wedding to take first priority. I would never rule a place out simply because it was crowded...

ETA: Did you have an appointment that day or did you just go?

I completely agree with you Stacey

I don't think WM brides have anything to worry about, I have never heard anything bad about WM!

If there were weddings going on I would hope they would ignore me for the 20-30 mins to attend to the weddings.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

yeah i do agree its rude if you had an appointment to keep you waiting...maybe the should only meet with ppl during the week when weddings aren't going on?!

I was actually invited back by my BM to see how things ran during a wedding and he would not allow us in 'active' rooms. it was incredibly busy and yet everything was completely under control. Sorry you had a bad experience but that is def not the norm of the establishment

I am so happy you posted this the first time i visited WM they were having a wedding and it seemed they were busy but the whole time we were treated like king and queen, we even went around the gardens to see they made sure no one was a round (from the bridal party) I saw how they worked on busy days and that's what made me book it the way they set things up! I thank you for bringing this up and keep looking there is a hall for everyone there!!

****** FORGOT TO PUT THIS*****

I would like to invite you to post on our thread!! that way you can kind of help us bring these points to our BM to have a more perfect wedding!!

they do limit the amount of appointments on the weekends but I know if I could only vist a hall on a weekday I would have never booked a hall lol. I have decided that the entire world should make monday apart of the weekend. two days to recoop after a busy week isnt enough!!!!!

I was very turned off by the 2 halls I went to where they showed us the place while someone else's event was going on. Who wants strangers in jeans poking their head into your party? Not only does it make you, the potential client uncomfortable, it is rude to the paying client who booked that space for their special day.

On your special day, you want to make sure the staff is focussed on you, not on trying to make a sale to someone else.

Re: Keep in mind, all Westbury Manor Brides

I am a WM bride and went on two different days. The first day there was a wedding going on and it was extremely busy but I was encouraged to come back another day to really get a feel for the Garden room. So I came with FH and it was nice.

Like others have said, you will get this in any RH and I got it while at Fox Hollow.

Re: Keep in mind, all Westbury Manor Brides

I have to be honest....I thought as long as I got RH for a good price that looked good and had good food that is all I needed. After visiting a few RH's, I have come to realize that maybe I don't like the fact of having multiple events in the same location. So I do appreciate this post.

THX!!
