keeping laminate floor clean

HOW DO I DO IT?

I tried the swiffer wet cloth thing and it sux! It leaves streaks all over the floor and I need like 10 clothes just to do the room!!! I even tried a mop but then needed to go over it with a towel to dry it to get the streaks up.

Anyone have any pointers on how to keep the wood laminate floor shiny and clean?????

Re: keeping laminate floor clean

When I first moved into my house my MIL emailed Pergo about the best way to keep they floors clean and to emove any stickiness and this was their response:
mix 1/2 cup clear ammonia to a gallon of warm water. put the mixture in a spray bottle and mist a small section of the floor at a time. let it sit for a few minutes (about 3-5) and wipe clean with a towel. The ammonia should alleviate sticky residue. Also recommend white vinegar as a regular cleaner.

I haven't really tried either.

So far I have just been vacuuming and damp moping and it does the job enough! At first it looks streaky sometimes but usually when it is completely dry - it looks ok.

I use my Hoover Floormate on it once per week and just do maintenance during the week.

I also have the hoover floormate. I use that every other week to get a good clean in. For the in betweens, I use the cloth mop and the pergo cleaner. Although now that Niecey said to just use ammonia and water I'm gonna use that!
