Keeping on veil or taking it off???

Original post by JillMarie545

I'm finding that half my freinds/family think I should keep my veil on all day/night even for the reception (it's what makes you a brdie, you have to!! etc..) and the other half thinks I only need it for the ceremony and pics....

I have no clue..what is everyone doing?

(note: I'm not talking about the blusher, just the regular veil and mine is to about my fingertips)

Thanks!

I'm torn between taking it off before cocktail hour starts (because I would then have time to fix my hair) OR after the 1st dance.
My veil is cathedral, I'm not sure I'm going to want to have to deal with it all through cocktail and the entrance. But we'll see

I think I will take it off after the first dance. I like my veil but I also like my dress and I feel like I want to give it its time to shine

If you feel pretty in it...keep it on...you will feel more bride-ey.
Mine was pretty short, so I had it on all night.

I wanted to take it off right after pics, but now I think i'll probably keep it in. I feel guilty, my mom bought it for me and it was way more than I ever intended to spend, so I feel I should get the money's worth.

I want a cathedral veil and my friend said they bustle the veil for you just like a dress so I think I will keep it on all day.

I think it really depends on your comfort level. For me, I took it off during the reception since I changed into a second dress that I can move around and dance easily in so it felt a lot lighter w/o the veil on. We did an outdoor wedding in a tent so keeping on the veil all night would had caused a bit of discomfort for me. If your wedding is inside a venue, it's perfectly fine to leave it on the whole day. It's your big day, don't worry about what others think, do what makes you feel good and happy.

If you don't feel like it will get in the way, keep it on. I left mine all day and didn't have any problems. Plus I love seeing it in all of the pictures

I guess I'm the odd one out! I will probably take that thing off the second I can (which means after pics before CH). When I've tried them on I feel like they look silly and it's super annoying. I'm not a girly girl! I actually can't picture ever having seen a bride wear one at the reception, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

I think I want to keep it on the whole day. I love how it looks and how often do you get to wear a veil

You have to do what makes you the most comfortable. Personally, I dont' think the veil is so comfy for me, and I think I'll be hot, so I don't need more layers. I plan on taking mine off after the ceremony. But a lot of girls like how it looks and leave it on through the first dance or even all night long. It's totally up to you. Anything is acceptable.

Keeping it on. I plan on getting a veil that is to my fingertips so it won't be in the way.
