Kel- DJ question
I know you said you had a good experience with Eddie from Parameters, so I'll be meeting with him this weekend. He's actually coming to my house! Anyway, when do I have to have a list of all the specific songs for my DJ? My fiance and I haven't decided on a lot of things yet and I don't know if we need to make our decisions before we sign the contract.

Are you kidding? I must have driven Eddie nuts with the changes I kept making to my list! Seriously, though, I gave Eddie an absolute final list of songs along with a detailed list of all kinds of specifics in our final meeting before our wedding. We had found Eddie at a Bridal Expo, and he came out to our house too for an official appointment. It was great having one less place to have to run to. Plus, when we signed the contract with him, he came back again. For our initial meeting, I did have a list of songs that I knew I wanted. Eddie went through that list and offered suggestions, which I found very helpful. But, don`t stress about compiling a list before signing. Well, I wouldn`t, anyway. From now til your wedding day, there will be new songs that come out, or you may hear some long lost song, and you`ll end up wanting to add these. Or, the lyrics of a song you thought you wanted may finally make sense, and you`ll realize it`s not what you want at all. Bottom line, you have time to put a song list together. Just make sure, in your meeting this weekend, you tell Eddie the types of music you want played, though he`ll probably ask, or ask what radio stations you listen to. If you know of any distinct or rare songs you`ll want, try to let Eddie (or whoever you choose) know as soon as you can, so those songs can be tracked down if necessary. For us, Eddie ended up searching and getting some music we wanted, and we got the rest. It just ended up being a matter of who found it first. Here`s one of the funnier stories I have since our wedding .. my husband and I were driving somewhere with the radio on, and this song came on .. I said to my husband, 'Gee, too bad I had forgotten about this song, I would have liked Eddie to play it.' Well, not too long after that, we got the raw footage video tape back from our videographer, and while watching it, we found Eddie DID play that song! The night just goes by so fast it`s hard to remember exactly everything that`s played. But, that`s why we booked him .. we just seemed to be on the same wavelength with music.
