Did your Rabbi have to approve your Ketubah or proof the wording of it?

Re: Ketubah Question
He didn't approve it per say, but we went over what it needs to say.

Re: Ketubah Question
it all depends on the rabbi. ours gave us guidelines for the type of wording that we could use- but only because we are interfaith

Re: Ketubah Question
Our Rabbi gave us this sheet that lists what it needs to say. Unfortunately it doesn't list what book it is from on it. Basically he told us that it must be in Aramaic. The wording differs slightly depending if you get a Orthodox, Conservative, Interfaith etc.

We are interfaith as well. Is the Rabbi just drawing one up himself or he gets it from somewhere?

Re: Ketubah Question
Ours was kind of like, 'that's fine' to it. He really didn't care much either way. It depends on the Rabbi/type of ceremony.

Re: Ketubah Question
Our rabbi doesn't need to see it before the wedding but just told us what what kind it needs to be. Totally depends on type of wedding, conservative, reform or orthodox. Good Ketubah site: theketubah.com ketubah.com

Re: Ketubah Question
I don't even remember the Rabbi mentioning that we needed one (interfaith ceremony) but we have decided it would be nice. He has not returned any of my 4 messages yet (over the past few weeks so before the holidays started) so I have no idea what to do at this point. I think I am just going to go with it and hope for the best.
I am going to get it from www.artketubah.com (thanks to Nora101004). They can rush it for me and they were really nice to work with so far.

Re: Ketubah Question
for our interfaith ketubah, our cantor said it had to be egalitarian, half english, half hebrew and interfaith text. a great website where i am ordering from is jessyjudiaca.com

Re: Ketubah Question
Our rabbi just told us which text to use. He required the Orthodox one, but said we could use a more egalitarian English.
