we plan on trying after we've been married for 2-3 years. i LOVE kids and will probably really want to start trying right away, but i think it's important to enjoy just being US for a little while first.
Thats how i feel too. I see cute baby clothes and whenever i see a baby im like OOOH i want one now!! but realistically i think its good to enjoy us time first

I figure I will start thinking about kids when I am 30 -- I am 26 now and will be 27 when I get married. My friends all have baby fever though - one has a 10 month old and the others will be trying before the end of the year!

Us too! We both still live at home with our parents but after I graduate this year we will start looking for a place. Whether we rent or buy. I figure a cat or dog will do the trick until we are ready for real babies!

yuck i hate those types of questions - especially since you dont want to offend anyone with your answer when they ask!
i originally wanted to wait a year ( to the day HA!) but now we are saying anywhere from 2 to 4 years. . . or whenever God decides
we will be together ten years ( and 25) when we get married but we want to enjoy living together, buying a house and traveling.
we already planned our first two anniversary trips so i dont think we are selfless enough for kids yet but we have plenty of babies in our lives!

well, i want to have kids before i'm 30....i will be 26 almost 27 when we get married, so maybe we will wait a year...i dont want to wait too long but i know after the wedding we will have to start saving $ again, since so much of our $ is going towards the wedding.
just personally, i dont want to wait too long b/c i feel like now is when i have a lot of energy and am young, so i want to be able to feel like i can run around like crazy and do whatever i need to for my kids without feeling too tired and exhausted...we will see though. we have already been together over 6 years.

not until I have tenure, he has a good job, and we both become a little more selfless.
Right now we enjoy spur of the moment trips and spending quality time with just the two of us.
I don't think it would be fair for the child if we had one right after we got married. I want to make sure I can 100% dedicate myself to making that childs life my #1 priority.
Right now my priority is my FH.

Well people are placing bets that I'm going to have a HM baby, which I don't want. I don't mind being pregnant for our 1 year anniversary. I'm 23 and FH is 27.

Why must people be soooo annoying?????!!!!!!!! It's like they live to annoy you!!! 1st it was when are you getting engaged...then it's did you set a date... then they start asking when are you going to have kids!!!! Enough venting...

The only person who asked me that question is my little sister, she wants to be an aunt.
I will 23 when I get married, I guess people feel I will still be young when I get married so they don't bother to ask. They just tell me not to have kids right away lol. FH and I want to wait for at least two years after we get married to start trying.
