kids

so i babysat my niece yesterday and my FH came along for about half the day. but i noticed that whenever i babysit her and my FH is around, i feel like i barely talk to him or give him any attention cause it's all focused on her.

i hope this is not what having kids is gonna be like. at least i'm aware of what im doing and i want to fix it lol. i think maybe it will be different when we have our own kids... compared to me taking care of someone else's since i have to be overly watchful.

is anyone else like this too??

Yeah, i had the same situation last week ... we were out with FH's 2 brothers, their wives, and the 2 kids and i felt like i was more focused on teh kids than on FH ... i was trying hard to give him some attention too though

I think it's only b/c its someone else's and u do have to pay more attention, plus its not like ur used to taking care of children on daily basis. prob very stressful and nerve wrecking.

was Josh part of the caring and looking after them, or did he just came to keep u a bit of company?

when both of u will be caring for ur children u will both be very involved with the baby and thus with each other. dont worry, totally normal

thanks regy! he helped out too cause we went out to dinner and bowling... but then when we got back home, he was just sitting on the couch watching tv and i was on the floor playing doll house and tea party lol. i guess it just felt weird to not be able to talk to each other during the day the same way we usually do. but i do think it will be different once we have our own kids.
