what is everyone doing with regards to kids? especially for those with lots of kids.
if you're not having them...are you planning to have a babysitter or planning anything or just letting the parents deal with it?

whenever we go to family functions the kids are alllll over the place cuz there are so many. and i mean i have fun with them and they are cute...but like my fh's sister has a 2 yr old and whenever im over or there is a function...she'll walk away from him and expect everyone else (or me) to take care of him!!!!!!
and i know i wont be the one really dealing with this on the wedding day...but there will be other guests who do have to and that's not fair to them either.
i think its more of a problem when there are a loooot of kids in the family!
Yeah ive seen kids screaming and crying during speeches and you couldn't hear a thing they were saying, they were going NUTS seriously and the parents didn't care, didnt even attempt to go get their kids, i think thats rude. I mean think about it, if the bride is having this videotaped when she watches it all you'll hear is screaming kids

I have a flower girl, ring bearer, 2 jr. bridesmaids, 1 jr. usher, and about 4 more that are not in the wedding but invited. I think it makes it fun having them out on the dance floor, and they are so excited to be part of it. I wouldn't have it any other way.
If my rh is willing to lower the price for kids then MAYBE ill think about it lol, also would be nice if i knew from ahead of time who would want to bring their kids, otherwise we could be looking at a pretty large number of kids.
I just cant get over spending close to $100 for chicken fingers and fries lol
Don't forget you will probably have to pay for the sitter's food.
see it becomes such a problem.

oh I was thinking you provide babysitters for the kids that weren't invited? I don't know how this whole babysitter thing works.
im thinking someone (guests with kids or us) could hire babysitter(s) and they can either be at one central location (someone's house) that everyone is okay with, maybe a hotel room, or another room in the rh???? it seems like its gets too complicated with all the babysitter stuff....on top of all the other wedding details.
we dont need another thing to worry about! we dont even have our own kids yet!

well you hire a babysitter to stay with the kids, usually in another room where they do activities, crafts and whatever else they do.
oh, well then that is even stupider than I thought. Not only would I be paying for these kids to eat but I have to pay someone to watch them too? I'd just give them a slinky and call it a day.

exactly it becomes such a pain. Its alot cheaper for the parents to hire a babysitter to watch them, hs kids do it for cheap, i mean wouldnt they also want a free night

i think that a lot of parents will probably hire babysittters on their own. i know that when i was younger and used to babysit, i was asked to go to someone's wedding to babysit there... sometimes if there aren't too many kids they can stay in the bridal suite... you might be able to get a room that has a vcr or dvd player and just bring a movie like curious george that lots of kids can enjoy -- also, just have a couple of activities for them, like board games, coloring books, etc. to keep them occupied and i think that should be fine

There aren't a lot of really young kids in our families, so we're inviting them.
