How are each of you handling inviting kids? I was thinking of doing a 12 year old age cut off... but no matter what I plan on doing someone will not be happy!

Re: Kids or No Kids?
I am only inviting kids that are close to me, for example my neice and nephew and my little cousins which I used to babysit. Everyone else's kids can stay home. The last thing I need is for friends of my parents who I hardly even know to show up with kids I don't even know.
I'm trying to keep my guest list at the minimum and inviting kids will surely put us over the limit.

I don't get the no-kids rule, but perhaps that is because it's so rare that we all get to see each other in my family. Weddings are family celebrations....why wouldn't you want the whole family to get to enjoy each other? I mean, if there are poorly behaved children in your family (emotionally disturbed, or just plain spoiled brats), I guess I could understand that, but I know I would be hurt if I had a child and were not allowed to bring him/her to a family gathering. The children in my family will all be invited, and I plan to ask their parents to bring coloring books/gameboys/etc. for when they get tired on the dance floor.
Anyway, I know that is not your question. Personally, I think kids can be fun at a wedding and not get too bored or exhausted once they hit age 9.

Oh, I also did want to mention that we are not inviting kids of friends, just family. That WOULD get a little crazy!

I definitly agree. We are inviting all the kids in our families.. I am leaving it up to their parents to decide if they want to bring them or not. People say that wedding are an ' adult celebration' but I definitly disagree. IMO a wedding is a Family celebration and children are a big important part of that family.

Kids or no kids...that is the question, with something like 20 kids on one side of my family with ages ranging from 5 to 15, I have absolutely no clue.

I'd be hurt if someone said we couldn't bring our daughter....I probably wouldn't go at all.

Re: Kids or No Kids?
I have been struggling with this question for a while now. FH and I still haven't decided. I really want my younger cousins to come, but that means there would be 26 kids there and I just don't think I want so many.... it is a really tough decision.
