sorry but im totally blowing up this blog today lol, at first i wanted kids at the wedding, but then my fh didnt want so I put some thought into it and we decided no kids under 14. it has caused soo much drama with my family. If we invited kids , it would be about 12 kids/babies, I just feel like kids are going to get in the way and I wasn't having a ring bearer anyway, (our dog is going the be the flower girl). Kids would be half off, but still I figured my family would be excited for a night out with no kids to look after but that is not the case. hopefully I made the right choice.. ok rant over lol

The youngest I am also doing is 14. If the parents of my ring bearer and flower girl want them to be at the reception then they can be. Other than that I am having no kids! I know if it was me being invited to a wedding and if I had kids I would be leaving them home with the grandparents haha. It's YOUR day! Don't give in just because people are not happy with your decision.

We are planning on having no kids at the wedding aside from flower girl/ring bearers however I feel like even those children will not be at the reception just because their parents prefer to not have the kids at the wedding. I know it's going to cause some drama with family but our age limit is going to be 18. I really do not want kids running around the venue and I feel like most teenagers really don't want to be at a wedding anyway. We don't have many younger kids in our families, just one or two that fall into this range.. I know it's hard when you have family in your ear, but it's you and your fiance's day and if having an adult reception is important to you then that's what matters.

My siblings and I are the youngest on both sides of the family. Between both sides my cousins have 14 kids all under the age of 6.
I love them all, but I'm not having 14 kids running around. I think all of my cousins will be fine with the no kids policy and will enjoy having the night out.

We're having no kids. We don't have a lot of friends or family with little kids, but I really don't care if they have a problem with it. call me a bridezilla, but I don't want a bunch of kids running around and REALLY don't want to spend $80+ a head (kids price!) for a six year old to eat chicken fingers! It's YOUR day and you should do what YOU and FH want.

Besides the kids in the bridal party, we aren't having kids. I love kids but there are too many & I want an adult party. Not a place for kids

I'm the odd man out here lol We are having kids but we also already have kids, so maybe that makes a difference. Our oldest is almost 12 and our youngest is 2. Our closest friends also have kids and one of them is my daughter's best friend. I think in total we will have 13 between ages 12-18, 9 between 5-10, and 5 under 3. It all depends on what YOU want. If you want no kids under X age, then that's what you go with. Just like people think we are crazy for having kids at ours but I'm like, How can we NOT? :)

No kids for us either- personally (not that my opinion matters) I feel they kids are always running around and wild during weddings. I would rather go to a wedding with adults only- that way everyone can enjoy their time. Parents that bring their kids are not having as good of a time as they would without them! FW still considers having kids but I said absolutely not!!!

I'm having the same problem.. at first I wanted kids, now i just can't see myself spending 60 a plate for kids to just eat chicken fingers. I also dont want kids running around. This post did make me feel a lot better about my decision! My dad is really not happy with my decision because his italian family doesn't ever leave out kids, but I said its MY day overall and I don't want a million kids running around because we have so many little kids in the family.

We both wanted no kids, but decided we couldn't exclude immediate family. So fh has two cousins (11, and 13) and I have one (11) they will be the youngest ones there. I'm thinking since our reception starts at 8 and goes till 2am, they won't make it long. lol

We're having no kids. my sisters children will be 2 and they will be there for the ceremony to walk down the aisle holding a sign, but then her friend is picking them up and babysitting. We will have one 8 year old because she is my flowergirl, other than that the youngest will be 16. I want everyone to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about kids running around

I have the same problem especially since my ring bearer and flower girl both have siblings that are 3 and under. We're still contemplating what were going to do, but right now it's ring bearer and flower girl as the only kids invited since were getting married at the venue. The age limit is 16 to include 2 of my younger first cousins.

We're having kids! They are my cousins and my niece - can't leave them out on my special day, they are family!

To each their own.... but I am doing no kids...and wrote 'adult reception only' at the bottom of my invitations. The only kids will be there wil lbe the flower girls and ring boys. I have cousins who live out of the country though so I will obviously make an exception for their kids.

We have a kid and we're still doing an adult only reception. We're having kids in our wedding and they'll be at the church but not coming to the reception. I work in an elementary school and have my own child...I love, love kids but I want ONE adult night to celebrate.
My reception also starts at 7:30 so it would be a late night for most kids. It's a preference thing...we didn't want adults to be outnumbered by kids and have romper room night.
