Do u invite kids to a wedding? I can't decide, I don' t want to , but I have out-of-state relatives(brother and sister's kids) Do I get a babysitter, if so where? Where do I put them? No room at the hall

Keep in mind w/your out of state relatives that they may get offended cause they are traveling for your wedding and they may not have anyone here to watch the kids. I love kids, so I don't mind having them at our reception.

We are inviting FH's family's kids because they are all coming from out of state. On my side only the RB and FG are invited- anyone else under 12 is a no.

Half our guests are out of town & have kids ...so we are going to provide babysitters (no kids are invited except BP kids)...we will probably hire a licensed & insured daycare person who can take them to the aquarium or something...at least our hall told us there are people that will do that...i went to a wedding where they rented a suite at the hotel & had a babysitter there with the kids...it was only a few miles from the RH.

I agree. If you are having relatives travel a long distance you probably should invite kids as well. I am not, only because every lives nearby and should have babysitters.

Us too! We're gonna set up a kids table with some things for them to do and their favor will be goodie bags. We will prolly get a nanny type person to watch over them and stuff so the parents can kick back and enjoy

Re: kids to a wedding
I have a no kids policy and weve beein recieving alot of he*ll from guests but im not budging.
The reason we dont want kids is because if we allow a few kids to the wedding we will automatically have 30 kids at our wedding which is a disaster waiting to happen. Its an evening affair and i dont think kids should be brought to evening affairs i never was brought as a child, my parents always found someone to babysit me and my sisters. Also, costs add up for having 30 kids at a wedding, and i would rather have 30 adults take the place of 30 kids. JMO

The bad kids ruin it for all kids sometimes. Not all kids are well behaved. My fbil son is 11 and still spits on people without being provoked. His other son is 3 1/2 and ripped his sisters shirt with his teeth last Hanukka. The kids are out of control and the childrens parents do nothing but no no honey don't do that. Since we can't pick and choose we are having no kids under 12. Except for the flower girl.

kids will be kids...lucky for me all the kids that will be at our reception are used to beign with their family during any special event....were all extremely family orientated..no offense to anyone but......some bridezillas out there make way too much of a big deal about this......only thing that is understandable is if u cant afford it...other than that most of the time if ur not rude about it some parents will opt on there own not to bring their kids...i say screw what anyone thinks and do what u want..if you want kids have them.....

Re: kids to a wedding
We're going to have a bunch of kids at the wedding, I have a lot of 1st & 2nd cousins ... ranging in age from 6 - 12.
My problem is going to be the younger ones ... my MOH will have a 1 year old, two of my other friends will each have a 2 year old ... and I have a 1st cousin who will be 1 year, and another 2nd cousin who will be 8 months.
I don't really want to do a cut off age for kids ... but I also don't want a crying infant during our ceremony ....

Re: kids to a wedding
we're inviting kids - there aren't that many in my family so we're lucky, but I wouldn't have minded anyway. I'm just going to have kid activities there so that they have something to do

We are having about 15 kids, but in all if we invited every kid in the family-it would be about 40.
