Do u invite kids to a wedding? I can't decide, I don' t want to , but I have out-of-state relatives(brother and sister's kids) Do I get a babysitter, if so where? Where do I put them? No room at the hall

Re: kids to a wedding
......some bridezillas out there make way too much of a big deal about this......only thing that is understandable is if u cant afford it...
I think to classify someone as a bridezilla just because they may/may not want kids at their wedding isn't really fair. Every bride has a right to have the wedding they envision. If kids are not part of the equation, then that's their right. It's their day and they shouldn't have to explain to anyone why they don't want children at their wedding.

Re: kids to a wedding
I am being very easy going about inviting kids...they are simply welcome. Not everyone is brining their kids but i gave them the option.

i'm gonna have a seperate section just for kids. there will be about 20 them. i'm more excited to decorate they're table than i am the whole reception hall!!! i love kids. especially my niece and nephew. i want them to remember that day as fun...not boring.

Re: kids to a wedding
we are not. FHs cousin are being invited from Florida (but not the kids) they already told us they are leaving all the kids with the two dads and teh grandpa. My cousins are 3 months - 5 years and im not sure if i am inviting them either (i may just leave it up to my aunt, personally i feel a wedding is not a place for little kids, the adults ned to enjoy themselves)

I'm not inviting kids because our location is an open reception next to the bay and there is a pool near by.

I'd love to NOT invite kids. How did you girls let your guests know? Was it on the invite?

Re: kids to a wedding
I think it us completely up to the couple, however, I was at recent wedding where the kids were not invited and I know a lot of their out of town guests could not make it due to the inconvenience. I am inviting kids.

Re: kids to a wedding
it's your preference....we are having about 10 kids at the wedding...but that is just bc we want them there...it wouldn't be the same not having my little cousins dancing with me on the dance floor...
do what's best for you both.

Re: kids to a wedding
We are only having immediate like 1st cousins that are children. FH little cousins are around 9 and up, and there's only like 3 of them. They are great though. Otherwise absolutely no children. As much as I love kids I don't want them running around between tables etc. JMO

Re: kids to a wedding
We're inviting the kids.... Mind you, our entire invite list is 70, and there are under 10 kids that could potentially also come. We're well equiped, since the hall has a small room to the side which is quiet, sunny, and has couches and tables.... I was thinking of setting up coloring books and crayons over there for the kiddos...... we'll also offer them chicken fingers, french fries, and of course yucky green vegetables....

Re: kids to a wedding
I am only inviting 5 kids to my wedding. It's FH's nieces and nephew and my neice. 3 out of the 5 are in my Bridal Party. No more kids invited!

Re: kids to a wedding
We only have 2 kids -- they are in the BP. Other than that, we have a No Kid policy. Its our wedding and we're paying. It would be too much money to pay for all those kids and to be honest, many parents dont let loose and have fun when there are kids around. If people complain that their kids cant come....oh well, then stay home

Re: kids to a wedding
this is a really tough one. Keep in mind who the kids are.....if they are your brother and sister's kids, its different than if it were your FH's freshman college roomate who you never met before's 2 year old son. This is on a case by case basis....depending on the relationship. If the majority of children are on your 'must invite' list, than it may pay to just have everyone's kids (if it's under 10) and have a separate kids table. After all, children love weddins and they stay intheir minds forever.

Re: kids to a wedding
We are having kids - we like them and that's fine but we also don't have a lot of kids on either side of the family so there won't be that many in the first place. Makes that decision a little easier
