I have a feeling my shower is going to be next Saturday (aka a surprise party for my dad's b-day) and I have been peeking at my registries. I have one at BBB, Crate and Barrel and Fortunoff. Alot of stuff is off the BBB registry but not much from the others and I am kind of disappointed b/c they are things I really needed and wanted like silverware and stuff. But than things are appearing on my registry that I didn't even ask for. I am not trying to be snotty or sound like a baby, I was just hoping to get the essentials so I wouldnt have to buy them later being FH and I are buying a house and paying for a lot of the wedding. It's just extra money we won't have. Does this sound horrible? I know I should be grateful but I know I buy stuff that is on someone's registry, that is what people put it there for.

It's okay to be disappointed, but just remember that you can return what you don't need/want after the wedding. Then you'll get to go shopping!!!

It's so weird when people do that. But you have to ask yourself this question. Is Fortunoff and Crate and Barrel easily accessible to everyone? BB&B is a store that is all over the place. People are going to go to the store that is easliest to get to. There's only one Fortunoff on LI and I don't even know where Crate and Barrel is so I'd probably go to BB&B because there are a bunch of them.
My advice, update your registry on BB&B and add some essentials on there. People may still need to buy you stuff so it's not too late.
I LOVE Fortunoff, but it takes me 5 seconds to find a parking spot at BB&B where it takes a good 5-10 minutes to park at Fortunoff. If I were a guest at your wedding I'd be going to BB&B. You have to think like a guest.

i know how u feel. i had registries with bbb and fortunoff. everyone went to bbb. i got 3 things from fortunoff. everyone wanted to get me towels.lol

Valid point about the convenience of the stores. There is a Crate & Barrel on Norhern Blvd and in the city. I did not register at BB&B, JMO I hated shopping at it.

You know, its funny, b/c my cousins shower is on saturday and I have been checking her registry at bb&b and i have noticed a lot of things that say 'requested 0' 'purchased 1' I dont understand b/c there are still lots of things that havent been bought, but they are buying things she didnt request. Also, when i was speaking to my aunt on friday, she said she needed help in finding something to buy her, so i told her to look on the registry, well, her response was that she doesnt buy things on peoples registries b/c she wants to be creative....I dont get it

my shower is next weekend and i only see a few things missing,,,,i know i shouldnt look but im bad,,,, however my aunt said shes so excited bc so many people are giving us homeade gifts(which is sweet) and stuff we didnt ask for... i dont find this such a good thing, ive been putting off buying myself nice, new things for years now bc i knew i would get it at my shower,,,,, now i cant afford to buy the stuff. i completely understand how u all feel but who knows our showers didnt come yet, wait and see then we can complain

I just registered at Fortunoff and Crate and Barrel this weekend.... I am kinda worried that people will buy all the small stuff like glasses. I'm hoping to get most of my appliances. Especially my Kitchenaid mixer!!!!
