Kind of freaking out

Ok so yesterday I went to Bridal Reflections and totally fell in love with a Maggie Sottero Dress the 'Sylvia'. The only issue was the only sample they had came in in Diamond White and I wasn't sure if that was too white, so after trying on a different maggie made of a different material in ivory I ordered my dress in Ivory. I now realize that Ivory can look different depending on the material of the dress. How many of you girls have Ivory dresses? Idk if I should call them and ask the to hold off on ordering it (they said they put in the orders on Monday) until I decide if I want to just take the Diamond White or maybe just take my chances on the ivory. I was so excited about it but now I'm second guessing my decision like woah and going a little nuts about it....... exactly why I have been up since 5:30 am googling like crazy and can not find my dress in Ivory. I barely know if I have made any sense but I am pretty much flipping out

First...You need to feel comfortable with what you ordered and it is apparent that you are not comfortable because you are not sleeping.

If I were you I would call them and tell them you do want to order the dress, but you need to decide whether you want it in Ivory or Diamond White. It shouldn't be a big deal to hold off the order for a week. Your wedding is still somewhat far away so you have a little time.

I would then call stores and see who carries that dress in Ivory and go check it out.

If you just let the order go in as ivory you will probably still worry about it even if Ivory is what you ultimately decide on. You need to see it and feel comfortable and confident in your decision.

I personally love ivory as my dress is in ivory. I feel diamond white is too harsh, but thats my opinion.

You need to feel comfortable with every decision, vendor, purchase. If you don't time will fly by and you will want to cancel, return etc and it will be too late.

DON'T WORRY! Just do what you have to do.

I personally love Ivory dresses as I'm very fair and white makes me look awful.

However, call them and tell them to hold off on it. Perhaps they can order you a swatch of the dress in Ivory, so you can see what it looks like.

The one thing you need to keep in mind, is that all of the GM/FH/FOB/FOG need to have their shirts in Ivory. (which personally, hasn't been a big deal)


There are some 2011 girls that have bought Sylvia - perhaps post on our board to catch their attention.

I think ivory is excellent, especially if you have fair skin! But if you are uncomfortable, tell them to hold and find it somewhere in ivory to try on. But honestly, the diamond white is just a bit brighter....I feel like once you have it on you won't even realize that it is ivory

My dress is even darker- champagne!

We did get all the men ivory shirts, though

Call them and tell them not to place the order yet. You're not in a time crunch, so it's really not an issue at all.

The material does make a difference. I ordered my Maggie in ivory, and my dress is bordeaux taffeta as well.

Try on any Maggie in that material and color. You're really just looking at the color at this point and want to ensure that you're happy with the way it looks on you.

I think the taffeta ivory is more subtle than the satin ivory. When I was trying on gowns, I realized that satin ivory looked terrible on me, while the taffeta ivory complemented my skin tone.

This is why I am in love with this site..... you girls are always willing to give great advice!!! I loved the second dress in ivory but for some reason I didn't think that the ivory for the fabric of my dress may very well look different. I called like fourteen times yesterday until I realized they are closed on Sundays!!! I left a message and also emailed them. They definitely better let me come by tonight to see a maggie of the same fabric in ivory or else I'm going to flip out lol. I always thought oh well its just one day, how stressful can it be to plan? Boy was I wrong!! I just wanna feel beautiful on my day(as I am assuming all brides do) so basically the dress has to be something I am completely in love with. I keep reading about maggie materials and a lot of girls are saying that the diamond white is supposed to look good on all skin tones, at the moment I am at my palest (been hibernating lol) but I tan very well. Maybe I should hold off and get a tan(it would only take 3 or 4 consecutive days of fake and bake) to see if the diamond looks better that way? I have a feeling I may just be turning into a bridezilla............... hahahaha. I just don't want to make a huge mistake and hate my dress
