kind of personal, but have any of u ladies ever had a....

i haven't had one personally but know several people who have, and recently worked with someone who did. They are all ok.. it is common. Can you go to another dr. for a second opinion if that would make you feel more comfortable?

I havent but FSIL had one not too long ago, same time she found out she was pregnant. Dr. told her its very common and if it doesnt shrink away on its own, then once she was out of her first trimester they would go in and remove it.

Turned out that it went away on its own, which was good for her considering she was pregant but she said the most it bothered her was a little bit of pain here and there.

I do believe its a common thing and fairly routine when it comes to taking care of it. I think its when it bursts that it can be more painful but your lucky you caught it now so that you can do something about it.

I had a sonogram done on one of my breasts and had to have a cyst removed last March. I know how worrisome it can be when its your own body - but these things are common and easily taken care of.

I haven't but two of my friends did... One gets recurring cysts and has to have them removed (usually it's just scar tissue build up from her previous surgeries).

Both friends are casual about it, they've never acted nervous about it - just like, 'damn, I have to get a cyst removed.'

I know it's not helpful but they made it seem like it was no big deal.

oh i dont have to get surgery...yet. i just have to get a sonogram i guess so they can tell me if i need surgery to have it removed. your friends seemed to have a good attitude about it. so im going to stop worrying. i have nothing better to do when im off all week. ya know? lol!

according to my gyn, we all have cysts. It's just a matter of whether it's active or active. Every females have cysts, and sometimes you see/feel it during a certain time in the month (i.e.--close to ur menstrual cycle) when you wouldn't usually see it. I wouldn't worry if I were u. I'm sure ur gyno just wants to take safe precautions by giving you a sonogram, but I think maybe the cyst has flared up more than it usually does in the past.
the same has happened to me. I got scared so i went on BC pills to prevent my cyst from getting larger or flared again, but it really wasn't necessary. It was just me freaking out.

I had one that I didn't know I had until it burst. Extremely painful...the bursting part. Before that like I said, I didn't even know I had it. Like other posters have said, they're very common and usually nothing to worry about.

I second that! The first time it happened to me I fell out of bed and crawled to the bathroom. My mom was in there and asked me what was wrong and I told her if felt like my ovary exploded. I went to the DR.. and they actually thought my appendix burst. But the did a pelvic sono and discovered the remains of the cyst. I've been on BC since and only get them once in a long while. My OBGYN told me to go easy on cheese, and milk products since this is a common trigger for them.

I had a dermoid cyst. Effin disgusting.
I had pain sometimes - went to like 3 different ob-gyn docs (during a time frame of about 3-4 yrs) and then i finally went to a new one and told her that it hurts sometimes but its minor...
she said it might be a cyst - so i went for a Pelvic Sonogram - & it turned out that I did have a cyst on my left ovary - the thing is they wait 3-4 months and after your period they send you after 2 and then after 3 months to see if it shrunk or it stays the same - b'/c depending on the kind of cyst it is they will see if you need surgery. most girls have the recurring or whatever you call them where they give you birth control to control the cysts. unfortunatley after 4 months (in my case) my cyst was there so they had to send me for a cat scan --- (the thing where your whole body is scanned exactly) and it turned out i had a 3'' by 2'' cyst on my right ovary & i needed surgery. I researched doctors & found one that's a pro in it - did it laporscapically and buhbye,

if you need any more info let me know - i did all the research on this (i had my surgery may 06)

& dont worry it will be ok.
I was depressed thinking omg what if something is wrong with my ovary but if they caught it fast and removed it you
dont have nothing to worry about
you will be ok :)

i have chronic ovarian cysts due to my endometriosis. mine literally come and go at their own will

I woke up one morning in so much pain, i couldnt breath and my right side went numb..i was rushed to the ER and they thought it was a burst cyst, so as they were checking me out more i was still in massive pain...they then found out it was my appendix, went in to remove and found out that with my appendix, a cyst had burst as well. so they cleaned that out too

I had an ovarian cyst... they said it was the size of a plum!!! It got me out of HS gym class for the rest of the school year but it ended up rupturing anyway!

My doctor said everyone gets them but they are usually the size of a grape and they appear and disappear during your cycle. However, if you get big ones you are usually prone to them so my dr put me on the pill. I haven't had one since (to my knowledge).

cyst on your overy?? i went to gyno for regular checkup and he said i have a cyst and i have to go get a pelvic sonogram on fri. he said its common and dont worry, but i am a little worried. has anyone ever had this or gone through it before?

I HAVE!! i went for my regular checkup and she found something so, i had to get a sonogram/internal...i ended up having a fybroid tumor! it's nothing to worry about, cyst are very common in woman, and usually they are nothing!! don't worry!
