Kind of silly question about losing weight and getting in shape...
I'm not getting married until March 09. I've been maintaining a 25 pound weight loss for a little over 2 years now but I've lost some tone since september when I started working full time and going to graduate school full time. Right now I am really stressed with school and work and I just work out when I get the chance and I don't want to have to stress about looking as perfect as I would like to be for the wedding right now. I work with children so I am on my feet all day, I still eat healthy and I have continued weight lifting. My question is how far in advance should I get really hardcore and prepare for the wedding dress shopping and wedding?

I would suggest eating right and keeping up with exercise for a while, so that before your wedding, you don't have to go hardcore, depending on how much you really need to lose. Even if you lose half a pound a week, that's 26 pounds this year, and you'll still have over a year till your wedding. That's what I'm trying, anyway (I'm a 2008 bride and a year and a half from my wedding, with only 10 pounds or so to lose, though).
Good luck!

Thank you for the advice, I really don't want to lose any weight, well maybe like 5 pounds, but I really need to tone for that dress. Good luck to you!!

OK, I just checked out your pics, and WHAT are you worried about? You look like you don't have any weight to lose. So if you just want to add tone to your arms, or flatten your stomach for the bikinis you'll be wearing on your honeymoon, you can make a really major change in your body in 6 or 8 months.
I have a feeling, though, that once you start planning to try on dresses you'll be hitting the gym a lot more than usual (that's what's happening to me!) and that's a year before your wedding. TONS of time to get really buff.

Ok, girlie
For starters, I checked out your album and you look fabulous. But, I know for your day you want to be perfect. I am going back to the gym beginning next month. I want to lose 25 pounds and then just tone up afterwards.

Thank you very much! That is very sweet of you to say. It's just, and I know you all probably agree, you don't want to have to worry about how you look in the pictures and the video, you want everything to at least be tight and fit for that one day! haha Good Luck with the gym!

Congrats on the weight loss!!! I've been mantaining a 50 pound weight loss and I've had the same problem.. I lost all the tone. While i was student teaching and working 2 jobs i never had the time to go to they gym.. so i started to get a lil flab.. I would say once you get to the 18 month mark, start kicking it into high gear. I've started to do it now because i also want to lose about 20 more pounds and firm up.

Hey Hon:
I think you look great as is. One suggestion I have for all brides is to do a little bit of arm exercise in preparation for the wedding. Everything else can be hidden (spanx, etc.) but most brides wear strapless dresses or ones with tiny straps and you can see their collarbones, arms and shoulders. I think even the skinniest girls benefit by doing reps of arm exercises with a light weight. It will make you look nice and toned in your pics. Good luck.

Hey I know this sounds simple, but green tea is amazing at helping me lose weight. I drink the earl grey green tea or the 4C iced tea green tea, since I dont really like the taste of green tea alone. Also I take Green Tea capsules with my vitamins in the morning. Seriously it works for me when I want to lose like 10 lbs. with out doing much! LOL

The green tea thing really works! I lost the most weight when I had a cup every morning. I actually started drinking it every morning again!

Yeah I was shocked...my sister whose always been about average or so dropped about 20 lbs when she got engaged and I asked her what she did bc she's never been able to lose any weight before. She said small meals through out the day, but the difference was she stocked up on Green Tea and had it all the time. She said she had like 4 cups between iced tea and hot tea a day...and the Ice Tea doesnt taste bad at all like I thought it would. It comes in little packs and you can put them in a bottle of water anytime and its actually good!
