'The favour of your reply is kindly requested prior to the twenty-third of September'
The rest of the card is blank.
FILs think people will throw the card out if it doesnt have the lines on it.
I have received plenty of invitations with cards worded this wasy (no lines) and never thought to throw out the card...
Please tell me i am not crazy and i do not need to add the lines?

Re: Kind of strange question about response cards
ive actually never recieved a card with no lines before, i think id have enough sense to write on it and send it back but i could definitely see people getting confused..... they already dont know what to do when there ARE lines lol

i wouldn't want to send out cards without lines either.
people are stupid.
a few (or more) are bound not to 'get it'.

Re: Kind of strange question about response cards
I would put the lines. My response cards had only number of persons attending and people left that blank. We then had to go calling people and ask if they are coming or not and 9 times out of 10 they were coming and forgot to put down a number.

Re: Kind of strange question about response cards
people are oblivious sometimes - people in our age range might get it, but older people would not know what to do......
I say put the line just to save yourself the hassle of not receiving them back.

Ok defintely not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate your opinions, and I am going to give it more thought...
cant I just have a rule that says if you are too stupid to figure out what to do with this you should not be at my wedding?

That sounds like an amazing rule, haha. I wanted to do the no line card to get a personalized response from people and just because its more formal, but we decided to save ourselves the headache. Its hard enough to get people to return the things at all and on time. I would absolutely know what to do with it, but some people just don't get it. If you want to do it though, you should! It's your invitation!!

I have to agree with the other girls. I've never seen it before, but I would save yourself the long term aggravation.

HAHA! I wish we could all have that rule. I say see what happens. If you don't want to put the lines then leave it BUT know that you might haveto call people up if you don't get the cards back. And try to spread the word of mouth to send the card back.

Re: Kind of strange question about response cards
I've seen a ton of response cards without lines.
My MOH just got her invites for her October wedding and she has a blank card with the reply response date on it. I think it looks more formal.

I would definitely add the lines - you can't assume that everyone has common sense and knows what to do lol
