Kinda a personal q, maybe a bit TMI, hope not

Ok girls, I have a question. It's a bit personal, but we're all adults here, so I'm hoping someone has an answer.

EVERY May/June my period goes CRAZY. It comes super late. Like I won't get it from the 20s of April until the second week of June. Every year I FREAK out and get paranoid even though I know this happens at this time of year.

A) How can I calm myself? B/c I know stressing about it can make it come even later

and

B) Why the eff does this happen? Can the changing of seasons cause this???

its prob has to do with stress..... when i was in school i would literally get my period like 4 times a year, since ive graduated last may im regular now

eta: but still go to the doctor just in case of anything, you never know, but how ever you 'de-stress' i would just try doing that, long baths, massages, etc

I don't know, it might just be the way ur body regulates...id definitly ask ur gyn...she is much more qualifed to really answer you and knowing will relax you when this happens every year.

goodluck!!

It might be stress. FOr 3 years in a row I didnt get my period for the months of July and August. during those months i worked 2 full time jobs, so i just attributed it to stress.

I've had craziness happen like this to me. My gyno basically told me that all your hormones need to be at the right level in order for you to menstruate, so, of course stress will affect that.

It's probably just stress. The same thing happens to me once in awhile even though I'm on the pill. You can ask your gyn if taking a home pregnancy test might help. My gyn wanted me to go on the 4-periods-a-year pill, and I told him I wold get super nervous if I didn't get my period after each month! He told me that I could get the pregnancy tests in the dollar store (apparently they are just as good as the expensive ones) to put my worry-obsessed mind at ease!

check w/ your doctor... but i would also consider going on BC to regulate it

I have a period that comes when it wants, but sometimes doesn't show for 6 months...I feel your pain.

With that being said, I've been to the OB/GYN 10 million times with concerns. I've been reminded that:
*If you change your diet, it can change your period
*weight gain and loss can change it
*eating certain foods can change it
*your sex life can change it
*other girls can change it
*stress levels can change it

So, think about these things. During these months, do you eat new foods because they're seasonal? Do you start working out because it's nice or stop working out because it's nice ? Do you and FH have more or less sex during that time? Do you start hanging out with new people that would sway your period? Do you get stressed (finals, birthdays, other events)? If you answered yes to one or more of these, that is probably causing your lack of period. Bring it up to your gyno and see if s/he recommends something to change it! Good luck!!!

I just went through that list of questions, and answered YES to every single one! I feel better now lol
