Kinda bumming right now

I was driving to pick my mom up from work, as I do every night. And all of a sudden it hit me.

My dad wont be around to walk me down the aisle.

My dad died november 2008. So ive always thought about how he wouldnt be around, but its real now.

I was hysterical crying driving down sunrise highway. Super safe right lol

but im just bumming in general over getting married and not having my dad there. He didnt get to meet FH but i know he would love him. l

ok im done being depressed lol

ps there was no point to this post besides to get it out of my head lol.

Re: Kinda bumming right now

I totally understand..my dad passed when I was 13. As this wedding gets closer I it bothers me but then I think that I am happy to have my mom who will walk me down the aisle.

It never gets easier but just think about how happy he would be for you.

Sorry

I'm so sorry

FH's dad passed away in 2003, and I always wish that I could have met him. Just know that your dad will be there, looking over you the entire day and smiling down on you. He WILL be there, just not in the same capacity

i'm sorry

maybe you can have a memorial frame on your bouquet or something so that he's just a little bit closer to you on that day.

Why don't you have your mom walk you down the aisle? Or do you have any brothers?

Re: Kinda bumming right now

i'm sorry... i totally understand how your feeling. neither of my parents will be at my wedding, so i wont have anyone walking me down the aisle, no first dance... and i don't have much of a family here (just 1 older brother, who is married and more concerned about his own life than anything else in the world)....

so i totally understand. i actually started tearing at the showcase (sad i know..) when they were like 'here's a sample song for the first dance with your father'...

i couldn't just hold it back...

feel lucky that you still have your mom around. smile!

i thin its really sweet that your wedding day is your dad's birthday.
i agree with the other poster, why not care a memorial frame of your dad on your bouquet, my sister did that for my grandfather who passed away. it doesn't have to be very big, they actually quite small.
he will always be with you, today and on the day of your wedding.

I am so sorry! My friend's father died 3 weeks before her wedding- she was obviously devastated. He will be watching from above.

Re: Kinda bumming right now

I almost lost my dad 3 years ago. He went into cardiac arrest but they were able to bring him back. I think about it sometimes, how he might not have been here. But you will be ok. Your mom is there for you and she will help you through every step of the way.
