so much of my family has rsvp'd no to this wedding to the point where 75% will be fh's family and then there will be like, 2 tables of my family... my dad is so angry with some of the people not coming because we always made the trip to go to their weddings or their kids graduation parties and things like that... and that's not the thing that's bothering me because i understand that things happen and people can't always make it. the thing that bothers me is just that i feel like i'm gonna have such a small amount of guests compared to fh.. does anyone else feel this way?

Its going to be the opposite with me. i have a big family even with cutting out the cousins kids I will have 6 cousin and aunt and uncle tables and FH will only have 1 table of family. i know he feel bad about it too. Just think of it this way.. The people who matter will come and everyone else can go Fcuk themselves. Now you know what tp do when it comes to their parties!

I am in the opposite situation...there will be a lot of my family there and very little of FH's family (he has a small one to begin with and on top of that they are not local).
He was upset about it for a while, but then he got to know my family and like them so they feel like his family now too

I have a very large extended family so I will have more family there than FH but it's also because his family likes his ex more than me so they probably won't come. :(

i'm in the saaaaaaaaaame situation..fh already has a bigger family than i do, but my dad's side i was never very close with and theres only like 5 people on his side anyway..and my mom's side has had an ongoing feud for years now that has everyone split, so i know alot of people will rsvp no and ill have like 1 table of my family ..im not too upset when i really think about because fh's family is more of a family to me than my family so i'd rather they all come over alot of other people

Mine is sort of the opposite. I have about 200 people on my side...and he has about 100. In the end, I dont think it really matters. You will have a great time with whoever is there!!

DITTO.
I would be surprised if half of FH's family responds 'Yes' FMIL has told us time and time again no one is going to come to NY for a wedding.

I have no foreseeing for the wedding at this point, but for our e-party there were about 50-60 people there and 3 people from my family (outside of my immediate family) showed up.

I totallly understand! Because FH and I decided to have the wedding in NY (I'm from Ohio) I am assuming very few of my family members will make the trip - so its going to be a lot of his family members.
At first I was really disappointed by this and really pushed to have an Ohio wedding but FH family is so much bigger than mine it only made sense to have it in NY.
Just remember - the wedding is really for you and your FH. It's not for your family or for your guests. Keep that in mind and you will have a great day!

i'm in the same boat. my family is tiny compared to fh's. i'm going to have 1 maybe 2 tables of my family. out of 125 guests 70 are fh's family about 20 are mine. the rest are my family friends.
