So, I invited 3 friends from high school that were part of my circle back then. We haven't been that close recently, but we go way back. I had some weird conflict with one of them back then, and the other two were definitely closer with her than with me. Anyway, I invited all three of them to the wedding - two of them are on LI and one in DC - they all said no. I'm trying not to take it personally, but I really feel like they all talked and decided together not to go. I don't know, it shouldn't bother me since we really haven't been close in a long time, but I kinda feel like I'm getting the cold shoulder. Ho hum...I guess I'm glad they're not coming if they are thinking ill of me, but I don't like that feeling right now. I guess now's the time to learn who your friends really are...

I hope so. I guess I just sorta hoped this would be a way to feel better about the relationship with the one friend after so many years. I feel like I sent out a peace branch (is it a branch that you send???) and that it was denied a little. But maybe I'm reading into it. Thanks for reminding me that those who love us will be there - you're right!!

We considered tracking down FH's biological dad and inviting him, even though he hasn't been a part of his life. I am sure glad we didn't!

i know how u feel. my high school best friend hasn't contacted me in about a year...when she did contact me it was to invite me to her bridal shower ...THAT WEEKEND!!! i wasn't invited to her wedding or any festivities related to it. i sent a STD to her parents house (because she never told me her new address or phone number and i was planning to invite them too) and i have not recieved any word from her. so at this point i think i should save my invite for somebody who deserves it.
ETA: obviously they haven't grown up and gotten over whatever silly conflict it was and it will be their loss.

You know, in a way, it makes FH the amazing person he is. He is extra determined to have a healthy marriage and be a great father because of it - and that's part of the reason I love him so much!!!
