I was reading some threads and I noticed some people writing that they are going to try for a baby on their honeymoon. I know that LOTS of babies are born as 'HM babies' lol

Do any of you plan on doing this? Why/why not?

By the time of our wedding we will be living together for 4 years.
By that time, our home will be finished, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. and lots and lots of living space. we are finacially ready now...but

I am not ready. Its a huge commitment and life changing, body changing experience.

I am selfish and dont want to have that responsiblity of caring for another person right away.

I will be almost 28 when we get married, so i am figuring possibly 2 years later.

Depends how lonely we are in such a big house

Not everyone's body completely changes, some people bounce back right away (genetic freaks as I like to call them) and others have to work at it.

We are getting married in Novembre 2008 and plan on starting to try in January after the holidays.

we plan on waiting about 2 years before we start trying.

i would LOVE to, but i want to make sure we have a house first, are financially ready, and it will be nice to have some time just the 2 of us married before the babies come.

Noooo way! we are still young (we're 23 and will be 24) and I'll still have 1 more year of law school to go.

We'd like to wait until late 20s ideally. travel, enjoy being together, etc. Our kitties are enough for us right now

nope- we need a house first. We hace a 1 BR apt with no room for a crib and I don't think it's legal to keep a baby in a dresser drawer like the olden days

ETS- we do hope to look for houses a year after the wedding so if we can buy one then, we may start trying (I won't have to move boxes when we move--lol)

shiiiit. I thought you could keep a baby in a dresser drawer. This screws up EVERYTHING

I hate to be a big downer, but we don't plan on having kids, so we're just going to enjoy our HM.

No HM babies for me. I'm graduating law school a few months before the wedding, so I need to give the career a few years and then it will be baby time!! I want to pay down my loans/be able to afford a reputable nanny/build a relationship with a firm where they'll hopefully give some generous time off.

Well since FH and i already have one child...i became pregnant about 3 months after we met when we went to vegas...what happens in vegas definitely doesnt stay in vegas in our case but we will be trying for our second child after we get married!

I want to wait for kids until we are settled where we are going to live and have a house and stable jobs where we can see ourselves long-term...I will probably wait at least a year to try

FH wants a honeymoon baby... but i say NO WAY!!! Let us enjoy our first year of marriage (at least! I want to be able to just pick up and go and also i want to become a little mor financially stable b/4 we bring another person into this world!

I would if I could. I am 30 now, will be 31 when we are married and FH will be turning 30 soon after our wedding. We have lived together for about 5 years now ... I do not need to have the alone time thing with FH, I've had that.

But ...

We are moving to NH the year after we are married. I will most likely need to find a new job in NH, unless I can work from home at the one I'm at now (or if I find another before we move) ... and you have to be at a job for at least one year before you can go out on maternity leave ... so I think I have to wait at least 2 years after getting married to get pregnant ...

I want to be done with kids by 35, 36 ... and FH wants 6!!!!!

He'll be lucky if he gets 3.

FH and I can't seem to decide on this. I have no preference. As long as we can afford it I would like to have a baby as soon as possible. FH sometimes says he wants a baby immediately after the wedding, but other times changes his tune saying maybe we should wait a yr and enjoy the married life and travel. I could care less, I know I want children but I kinda have the 'when it happens it happens' kinda attitude. even if it happens immediately, we'll look at it as a blessing so we're not too concerned with planning.
