Yeah yeah yeah, I know the nice thing to say is how you would never compare your wedding to anyone else's, but let's be real. We all do it in our heads (some of us out loud... which I only do with my momma! ). And this doesn't have to be in a malicious way... it's just like 'Oh, they decided to go this way while we went that way! Interesting!'

I agree that we all do it. no matter what we always compare to others. and not only weddings.
but when I do it I dont do it like u Jill, I am just being vicious. to be perfectly honest I do it to make myself feel better - so what? if u dont spread that vileness around and just keep it between u, DH and mommy who does it really hurt?

I think my wedding was beyond amazing, and no one else's come close
BUT at the same time I went to Janis's wedding and that what really the best wedding I have ever been to (holler!)
so just b/c ur being rude in private doesnt mean u completely 100% think that (if that makes sense )

As a guest, all weddings are pretty much the same to me. You show up, you dance, you eat, you go home. I tend to have the most fun at weddings where I know more of the other guests--so I have people to talk to.

Nice is really a subjective word anyway--some ppl might think a wedding is nice, others might think the same wedding is tacky.

all kidding aside I could never compare my wedding to any of u girls' wedding, I feel like we all helped each other plan so we have some small ownership in each others weddings. I guess I meant in general

this thread makes me think of the whole premise of the show '4 Weddings'...

which is EXACTLY the reason i wouldn't want to be on the show. there are enough people judging my wedding without it being nationally televised for judgment as well!

my FSIL, on the other hand, told me she applied and got a 'call back,' from which nothing ever came to fruition, but I would've been glad to have the rest of the TLC wedding watching population to judge her along with me

i only posted this bc we're going to a college friend's wedding tomorrow and i know ours was ten thousand times nicer so i kinda feel bad

i'm not talking about 'oh our flowers were nicer' or 'my dress was prettier'

i'm talking about things like 'we got married at the ritz carlton and they're getting married at the vfw' things like that!

ps. i'm not comparing bridgeview to the ritz it was just a comparison for explanation
