Kiss the Bride thread from last week

Last week Lu2700 posted that her priest will not be saying you may kiss the bride. I e-mailed my cousin and asked him if he will be saying that at my wedding.
This was his response.

'I don't normally say 'you may kiss the bride'. I think it's out dated, sexist and not part of the wedding liturgy.
I usually say something like 'seal your love with a kiss'. '

I actually like 'Seal you love with a kiss' better.

So maybe that could be an option that your priest can use.

HTH anyone who was upset that their priest wont say kiss the bride

Re: Kiss the Bride thread from last week

We don't have an officiant yet (we're close though!) and I think I'm going to suggest this to him.

I also find 'you may now kiss the bride' to be a lil archaic for FH and I...because I'd be the first one to be like 'wait a minute wait a minute...why does he get to kiss me? why can't I kiss him?!'
