$50 What? Isn't that a tad bit expensive? My FG is going to be 2 years old at the time of my wedding. I think I might just get her a silk flower kissing ball. On eBay for $6!

Re: Kissing ball for FG
I hate to think like this but....
I was originally going to have 2 FG. They're 6 and 8. The last time I saw them was at Christmas. Fast foward to 4th of July BBQ, these girls are BIG I could only imagine how big they'd be in another year so I went with my friend's niece who will be 2 at the time of my wedding. My contract included 2 baskets with petals at $25 each. I emailed the florist and said I wanted a kissing ball instead, thinking it'd be much cheaper especially since I only need one, and I was quoted $50 still.
getting it from a florist is about the same as a bo-k. it uses just as many flowers. we're getting one for the jr. BM.

That's certainly a lot of money for something your FG won't hold for more than 5 or 10 minues...I'm sure you could get a better price

Re: Kissing ball for FG
someone was saying on the 08 boards, that the FGs tore them apart and the flowers were ruined before the pics were taken...so at least a silk one wont get ruined!

I made a silk one for about $10 much cuter and more realistic cause she can hang it in her room after (well her mom can she'll be 18 months)

Re: Kissing ball for FG
Everything is so expensive, I would honestly do the $6.00 one on ebay because I have heard a couple of brides complain about the flowers coming out before the ceremony started and that is ALOT of money for the kissing ball.

Re: Kissing ball for FG
Burton's told me that the kissing balls are very hard to do because the little girls ruin them very quickly. They swing them around and the flowers come out. Also, the flowers bruise very easily since they're being bumped from every angle. I mentioned to them when I went to the appt. that I might want one and he reccommended against it. Then I suggested that I might make one with silk and he said that might be a better idea. I LOVED BURTON's!!! Mike was very honest with me about everything!!

I wanted the ball too but when I went to the florist, he told me that it gets ruined and the flowers fall out.... so the basket is a better bet, especially with younger ones. And mine will be 5 at the time...

Re: Kissing ball for FG
I bought one in ivory at A.C. Moore for like $6 and my florist said he would add a few real flowers to make it fancier. He said if it were all in real flowers, it would be too heavy.
