Kissing Ball/Pomander Ball

Is it customary for florists to do these using silk flowers?

I'm guessing only if you ask them too. Mine was all roses and all real flowers. They held up wonderfully.

I think it depends on how small your flower girls are. The pomanders have oasis inside, which holds water for the flowers, plus the flowers, makes for a very heavy ball. If you're having a little girl carry the pomander, it's probably a better idea to use silk, so it's nice and light, and if she swings it around, she can't hurt anyone.

She will be 6 by the time the wedding comes around. I love the idea of fresh flowers. I will see I guess..

I'm thinking of doing this for my FG. I will have my florist use real flowers.

Butterfly - its a ball of flowers that hangs on a ribbon that the FG will hold instead of a basket.
