Whch way will make the kitchen look bigger, laying the tiles as squares or as diamonds???

really? we are doing square...only b/c I feel diamond would be too busy...

Yabbobay -

It depends on the tile. If you have a really busy tile (pattern & color wise) , I don't think it'll make a room look any smaller. But if you have a plainer tile it'll stop the 'grid' effect that you get from a square pattern. It enlongates the look of the room because of the points on the diamond. Also the size of tile (4x4 vs. 16x16) can affect the look of a room.
A square grid pattern is fine though, I don't think you have anything to worry about!
