Has anyone ever used any pots or pans etc from 'tools of the trade?' How is the quality? I may have to buy some cooking things before our wedding and I dont want to spend a fortune, but I want quality. Im waiting on the all clad cus that is what Im registered for.

Re: kitchen question
Its not bad. I mean consumer reports rated it and Belgique (some cheapy macys brand) really well. LOL actually the best rated was the stuff at COSTCO! The Kirkland brand? I know Calphalon is fantastic-a little below All Clad. I have a lot of their stuff mixed with our ALL Clad items. (we got all of it for christmas from both sides of family lol LOVE our parents!)
I wouldnt buy a crazy amount of pieces of anything but if you need some basic cookware that is good and you wont throw out, try Calphalon or Cuisinart. Im against buying 'for now' pieces of really low quality because then you're just throwing money away. I feel its better to buy a cheap but durable alternative. JMO.
Look at MACYS. They ALWAYS have sales going on and you can end up getting things very affordably. See if you can get your hands ona copy of consumer reports too.

I had the Tools of the Trade cookware. It was ok and got the job done. You can use Macys coupons on them so I say get them.

Re: kitchen question
I bought some Macy's 'Tools of the Trade' pots and pans years ago when they were on a great sale. They were, at that time, the best ones Macy's had, and I love them. I cook a lot, and they're great. They're not cheap, they distribute the heat evenly--such as, it takes longer to boil something in a cheap pot because most of the heat is lost. My pots have an extra layer of metal on the bottom to gather and retain the heat. I've been living on my own for a long time, so I have a complete set of pots and pans, so I didn't bother registering for them. I'm perfectly happy with what i have.
So they're quite worth it, just make sure you get the ones with the thicker bottoms. Turn them over, you'll see what I mean.
