is it really expensive we just want new cabinets... and a countertop...
is it hard to do yourself? i think we might be able to handle it, but cna someone else come in and measure for us? or do we have to do that as well?

Re: kitchens Remodeling? QUESTIONS!!!!
My BIL installed our cabinets ... I believe Comsumers sent someone to measure for the granite counter which they installed.

Re: kitchens Remodeling? QUESTIONS!!!!
if you are ordering cabinets and not just buying stock ones i would have someone professional do a layout for you and measure just so there isnt any mistakes. as far as the installation goes if there isnt anything majorly difficult like crown molding that has to be hung and mitered just right or triple bead molding i dont think its all the difficult to do by yourself. if you have any questions please fm me ill help you all i can

Re: kitchens Remodeling? QUESTIONS!!!!
We just ordered new cabinets, there were a bit over 5k and the granite countertop came out a little over 6k.
Hope that gives you an idea.

Re: kitchens Remodeling? QUESTIONS!!!!
Oh I forgot to answer the other part. Most times you will take measurements, then you will sit with them, create the layout with the cabinets you want, ect and then before they officially put the order in, they will have someone come out and double check all the measurements.

Re: kitchens Remodeling? QUESTIONS!!!!
We did our kitchen ourselves. We were going to order cabinets from consumers or home depot but we ended up getting the Mill Pride cabinets that they have in stock at Home Depot. They look great. I was concerned about how they were going to look but every open house that we went to that the kitchen was redone, they used Mills Pride. We spent only about $2500 and we got ceramic tile, countertops, sink and new cabinets.
Plus we put everything in ourselves. The kitchen cabinets are easy to put in and so are the countertops.
