How far in advance did you go for your first fitting? My dress came in, but they told me to wait until 6 weeks before my wedding date to come for my first fitting.

I went within the week mine came in, and I'm going for my final fitting about one month prior to my wedding. I couldn't wait!

I'm going in for my first fitting this coming Thursday, which is about 7 weeks til my wedding.

Hi girls, my DIL was a Kleinfeld bride and at the time of the wedding they were living in New Mexico. Well her and my son arrived late the Monday evening before the wedding (they got married on Labor Day 2007) and she had her FIRST fitting (think about the stress she had) the Tuesday before the wedding. Then her second fitting on Thursday and final fitting on Friday. She picked up the dress on the Saturday before the wedding and it was perfect!!!!!
All you Kleinfeld brides be sure to ask that Josephine be your seamstress/fitter and you will be in great hands.

Kleinfelds is a well oiled machine...6 weeks (which is when I had my first fitting there) is plenty of time. You don't want to start or finish alterations too soon because your weight will fluctuate from all the 'nervous engery' leading up to the wedding - even if you're not dieting.
