Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

Wow. I just called to make and appt. for my daughter to look at gowns and they told me I need to give them a credit card deposit of $50 to hold the appt. That we are under no obligation to buy from them but if we miss or cancel the appt. they keep the $50. Should we just go to RK Bridal which we were going to do earlier in the day or it it worth going to both places?

Re: Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

I haven’t heard of that before, but then again I haven’t started looking for a dress yet. Are you going during one of their sample sales?

Re: Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

YEAH to book an appt you do have to leave a CC#...You can cancel up to 48 hours ahead of time but if you do it less than 48 before then you get charged $50

If you don't plan on cancelling the appt then no need to worry, you don't get charged anything if you go and there is no obligation to buy.

Whether you should go to Rk bridal or kleinfelds all depends on what designers you want to look at, both places have different designers. When i went to Rk bridal i didnt see many of the designers that were at kleinfelds. From what i know RK is $2000 and under for dresses and kleinfelds starts at $1800 and up. So it really just depends on what you're looking for.

Re: Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

make an appt when there is one ...you wil save 15 % if you buy the dress ...

also be prepared ..if she wants to buy the dress they required a 60 % deposit that day

and if you want to save money ...have it shipped to somewhere outside of NY so you sont have to pay taxes ,.....im having mine shipped to my friends house in NJ

i don't think you have to worry about kleinfelds stealing your CC#, they've been in the business for over 20 years and have a reputable reputation

Re: Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

They are not the first bridal shop that asks for a credit card in case you don't shop up on an appointment. So don't worry.

I went to RK bridals with my girls over the weekend and I am not too fond of the set up. I like Kleinfeld a lot better.

Re: Kleinfeld's Appointment Deposit?

They just want to make sure you show up- it's a very popular place to go shopping and I guess they don't want to waste anyone's time.

I went to RK then Kleinfeld's in the fall - both very nice experiences.
