Has anyone bought a dress at kleinfelds during one of their sample sales and had it altered there? I got a list of alteration contacts who actually work for Kleinfelds and do it on the side. I was thinking of going to one of them cause it will be cheaper. I also I need to get it dry cleaned as well. So I think it might add up.
Do you think its worth paying 575 at kleinfeld's to get it altered and drycleaned or do it all separately elsewhere?

Re: Kleinfeld's Alterations
that seems like a pretty high alterations cap. I think the cap at Lillettes was $275ish (I dont know exactly, since my alterations didn't hit the cap)
The dresses at Kleinfields are more expensive than those at Lillette's though, so I guess that is a factor

Re: Kleinfeld's Alterations
Not if you bought it at a sample sale there. I bought my dress at one of their sample sales there and numerous salespeople were telling their girls (including mine) not to have them done at the store. NOT that their seamstresses aren't great, it's just that if you're getting such a great price on the dress, why spend so much on the alterations. That's why they give you the sheet of their seamstresses personal contact info. They do the same work, just not physically at the store, and for much cheaper. I got mine done by a seamstress in Forest Hills.

Thanks. She actually wasn't one of the ones listed on the sheet because I needed one in Queens too, so I used a woman named Sarina who's name was recommended to me many times on this site. She's on Austin St in Forest Hills. She has a little shop upstairs above the Oz Boutique called Sarina & Sons, 718-263-0461
