Wow, you taught yourself from a book? Very impressive! I could never learn that way. I had a friend start teaching me, but I have to re-learn all over again

I have been buying books but I am trying to learn on my own and I am geting confused maybe it is easier than I think?

Re: knitting?

I am taking them at someone's house. It is so easy! You should just find a place that gives classes. you only need a few, then you can fugure a lot of the rest yourself by reading the patterns.

I started in November.

Re: knitting?

I started at Xmas -- bonding between me and MIL. I love to knit on my commute too.

To answer your question -- the scarf was stockinette -- it was the first 'pattern' I learned. I'm working on a baby blanket now in seed.

Bad news about my first project though. Just got back from a trip to DC where I left it in the hotel bar by accident. They claim one of the maids found it and will send it to me asap (apparently she took it home or something ). DH keeps telling me that they will send it, but I'm afraid I lost my first project
