knives sets, wish bowls???

ladies i am clueless i just noticed posts for wish bowls and knives sets, I know a knive set is for cake cutting but we need fancy formal ones? and what is wish bowl used for exactly. i know i am cluessless but alot of ideas on here I have seen that i liked but i have never heard of.

a wish bowl is basically like a guest book. its a big Vase or bowl, and there are little pieces of paper, and people write their wishes for you (i.e lifetime of happiness, etc).
