Kristen from Enchante

A few of you posted about Kristen for hair/makeup. I'm debating on whether it is worth having a trial for both hair/makeup for $85. It's a lot of $, but I don't want to NOT have a trial, since I never saw her work.

I used her & loved her work!!

She did my hair and makeup for my Sept. wedding, and also did my mother, sister-in-law and niece. Everyone turned out great, and I feel she was worth every penny we spent. She`s so easy to work with, and makes everything so stress-free. She was so quick with everyone, but yet it didn`t take away from the work she did. I wouldn`t want anyone thinking she`s quick because she cuts corners .. she`s just that good. The makeup came out so natural, and was so light. We were all happy with it, and I have a tendency to be very critical about everything. Just for the record, I never had a makeup trial with Kristen. I had gotten such a good feeling when I met her regarding my hair, that I just had that much confidence in her for my makeup. And I have hair that can be difficult .. it`s curly, and if not handled right it frizzes up. My mother did go for a complete trial, hair and makeup, and it turned out just as we expected .. perfectly fine. My hair trial was done when she was with her other salon, and it was very casual. She didn`t do it all up the way she would for the wedding day, but it was fine with me, especially since I could tell from what she did do that it would be great. I really can`t say enough good things about what a great job Kristen did for us on my wedding day. About one month prior to the wedding, I had Kristen cut my hair for the first time, so she could do what she thought would work best, and I have continued to use her for haircuts since. These are the best cuts I`ve ever had. Only you can decide whether you want to spend the money for a trial. From my experience with Kristen, I would think you`d be fine without the trial, but I don`t think, for your sake, you want to be testing things out the day of your wedding. Maybe try a hair trial first and see what you think, and the impression you get from her. If you`re happy with that but still unsure if you should go without a makeup trial, then schedule another appointment. If you simply don`t like what she does with your hair (not that I think you wouldn`t like it), then you save on the makeup trial. My sister-in-law and niece are from out of town, and were unable to have any trial with Kristen, and it worked out fine. But, since you`re the bride, and it`s your day, you may want to test a few things out, or have Kristen show you some ideas. Kristen was recommended to me on this site by JennRenee, who also continues to go to her.

Enchante Address & Phone Number...

220 West Main Street, Smithtown (631)-979-2300 It`s a little east of the Smithtown Bull, and is sort of hard to find from the road because it doesn`t have a storefront sign that jumps out at you. It`s located right next to the Cedarhurst Paper, hooked to the west side of that building.

Kristen from Enchante

Kristen did my hair for my July wedding, and she did a truly awesome job. I had (I just cut it) a lot of extremely long hair, and an extremely small headpiece, and had been to 3 or 4 trials before going to her. No one could fit my hair in and/or around my headpiece to my satisfaction, but Kristen did exactly what I wanted with no trouble what so ever. Spend the money for the trial. I think you'll like her work, and then you will also have piece of mind. Good luck! : )

Thank Kel!

After reading your post, I think I'll start with a trial for only makeup, since this is my main concern. The style that I want for my hair is fairly easy, so after I meet her, I'll decide on that. Thanks so much for your post!

Kel-Does she cut hair well also?

My hairdress moved out of state. Although I was not going to have her do my hair for the wedding, I need a good hairdresser now. My hair is long and has a natural curl. Thanks

Kristen absolutely cuts hair well! These are the best cuts I`ve ever had. And I have curly hair too, just past my shoulder. Kristen really understands how my hair needs to be cut for it to lay right, where with other people`s cuts, I`d have to struggle many mornings to get it to lay right. Also, one thing I`ve noticed with my hair when she cuts it, is that there`s never a drastic change. Now, it`s one thing if you`re going for a cut to get a drastic change, but when you`re going for a trim to freshen up your hair, that`s not the time to see a big difference. This is not to say she hardly cuts anything. It`s really hard to explain. But, when I wash my hair after it`s been cut, I can certainly feel the difference in length, but when I dry it .. there is never that gasp in thinking she took too much off. I`ve tried many difference places over the years, and even cut back on getting my hair cut for a while because I just didn`t like anyone. Most people don`t realize when curly hair is cut, it springs up and has more body, so for a simple trim, if they are a little too ambitious with the scissors, you end up with a cut a lot shorter than you wanted.
