also has anyone taken the 9 hour Waimea canyon and wailua river tour?? 9 hours seems sooooo long to me--but maybe it goes fast if there is a lot to see??? thanks girls!

Re: kuaui

We stayed at the Princiville Resort and they had lovely restaurants. I recommend going to their Luau (sp?) night as well. Kuaui was my favorite island.

I got this from a user on fodors.com. You should go on that site and do a search. Alot of stuff comes up for Kauai.

Take a BLUE HAWAIIAN helicopter ride. Take a raft trip along the NAPALI COAST with the optional landing to see ruins of old temples. Take a kayak trip. See the grand canyon of Kauai (wiamai canyon)

Here's my book recommendation ... Frommer's Hawaii for Dummies. It's extremely comprehensive & easy to read!

Hawaii for Dummies

this book gives you everything! You can get it on buy.com also ... definitely a must have for planning your vacation!

The restaurants that you mentioned are fantastic! We loved dondello's & the Beach house is great, but make your reservation early .... its hard to get into during the busy season.

We did our Luau in Mauii .. where they are really top notch! If you're going there you want the Feast at Lele ... romantic, not many kids, but the show's still good! or The Old Lahaina Luau ... buffet style & common seating, but the show is rated the BEST! Its just a matter of what you prefer.

Good luck! You're going to love it!!!
