the china we registered for is almost $190 per place setting! I feel lke no one will buy it. I found another pattern that I love (ralph lauren mandarin blue) however I don't know if it's practical with the design!! It's almost half the price per place setting and I almost like it more but am not sure if fine china is supposed to be more neutral.
What do you think?

We didn't register for fine china, we registered for very nice casual china. I think the name is Lenox Butler, and we got it from Macy's. I love it, and it was much more affordable then the ones you buy single place settings of.

We registered for kind of expensive China. I felt like if I didn't now I would regret it. We decided to just be happy with whatever (if any) we got and then add on to it. However, I haven't had my shower yet and I have most of the place settings and one accessory. It is surprising what people will buy you.

we registered for kate spade gardner street fine china
I definitely don't regret it People chipped in to buy us all our place settings for my shower and it's definitely something that I felt like if i didn't do it now, I would never buy it for myself later in life -- but definitely plan on using it on holidays and special occasions

No I think a lot of people feel that china is a waste and they just won't use it.
Personally, I'm super excited to get my china. I cannot wait to host family dinners and other dinner stuff and use it.

Ok so I have had a lot of stree with China. We picked china that is $143 per setting at Macy's but $89 at Bed Bath and Beyond so definitely check that out. it is something you will use forever and you will probably not buy for yourself. This is the time to put on the items that you really like. If people choose not to buy it then no harm no foul but if they do, you will get beautiful pieces that you will have forever.

Thank you for your response. I honestly do not think I will use it. My family is too big then when I do host, there will not be enough for everyone. Each family party is at least 40 people! I asked my FMIL and she said she doesn't use hers because when she bought her house, there wasn't a formal dining room. If you do not have a formal dining room, there isn't the greatest place for storage.

I ended up registering for Vera Wang Flirt. I love it, and it's less than the original. I looked on BBB and they had it for a dollar less, but they don't have it at any of the stores, so guests would have to pay for shipping.
I know that I definitely want china because I will definitely use it. I know we will have big family parties too but it will be good to have it.

We registered for simple white bone china that we use every day and can dress up
We live in a NYC apartment and do not have room for fine china!

No china. My mom has 2 sets which she never uses, so she has offered one to me, and I will never use it. I want stuff I will be using!
