KWR: Help me Feed FH!!!!!

ok, so i just posted on 2010 board that we got our first apartment. We won't move in for a few weeks because we have to paint and get carpet and actually now buy furniture (thank you engagement party) for it. But i am starting to freak out a little.

I know how to cook for myself (hello 30 years old but like pasta, eggs, easy stuff) but i have never made any big meals like chicken, steak, etc. I just realized i will have to feed FH like the first week we are there (and after of course)

*Does anyone have any easy recipes or advice??? Any ideas on what to make???*

Someone bought the slowcooker off my registry which I am so grateful for but how can i prevent him from starving the first few weeks til I learn and get used to using a gas oven (have electric at home)??? Healthy recipes/WW especially welcome because we need to stick to our diets for the wedding. At least if we starve for the first 6 weeks we will be good for the wedding.

Thanks so much girls!!!!

Your slow cooker will come with a book of recipes. Also, you can go to boarders or any book store and buy a cook book. I have a FABULOUS cook book... it's by good housekeeping... and it's like a binder type. It tells you EVERYTHING. Shows you utincels and different pots and pans and what to use what for. It's super informative... and then has all these recipes.

Also, do a search on the NW board for recipes. there are threads of just recipes we gathered to make a NW cookbook. So that's out there.

you will be fine.

If you go to a book store, try to find the Better Homes and Gardens cook book.. it's usually a binder with a checkerboard type pattern. Borders usually has it in the bargain section too.. My FH and I bought this and it has tons of easy recipes that are 'common' so to speak, like roast beef, chicken marsala, etc.

Any recipe like chicken parm, where you are instructed to pound and fry the chicken, you can also bake in the oven at 350 for like 20-30mins until you cut through and the chicken isn't pink... much easier than frying on a stove...
