I'm going to go to both florists for estimates. For those of you who chose one of them, please tell me what you loved best about them? What 'did it' for you in booking them?

I will be using Laurie from LA Blossom. We will not be doing flower centerpieces, but Laurie helped us order tower vases and votive holders for our own creation. Because she was so helpful and informative I will be going back to her for bouquets and church flower decorations.
I don't know anything about Jack and Rose other than he has sparked some controversy on these boards...

I am a LA Blossom girl! I can only speak on La Blossom's behalf because she is the only one I went to see. But she really gives you personal attention. Her ideas are different than the norm. She is all around a fantastic person. I felt so comfortable with her. We did not feel pressured at all. I had pictures of what I liked and she also brought her pictures.
She knew I was going with a pink theme and even brought pink crystals to incorporate into my bouquet.

I recently booked LA Blossom. (I did not see Jack and Rose.) Laurie is awesome! She is so incredibly nice, knowledgeable and creative. And as Jen n Dale said - she gives each of her brides personalized attention - that Really impressed me.

LA Blossom all the way!..Laurie is very creative and is patient to work with any idea you may have...as well as giving great ideas of her own to suite the style your going for...and on top of that, she is SUPER to work with..she only does weddings, so she caters to brides...I would recommend her to everyone!

I booked Jack and Rose. The reason I booked is because of his creativity and passion for his work. All I can say is meet with him and judge ON YOUR OWN. There are plenty of girls who have booked Jack, as well as various florists on this sight. Everybody has a reason for liking or disliking a vendor. Good Luck!

Ok, here are my experiences.. take is as you will..
I am getting married in March 2005, so after hearing all the rave and seeing Jack's work, Iautomatically called him, in December.. he was very nice, he got back to me immediately. we chatted for an hour, about how and where he gets all of his flowers etc., how many clients he has, he's very popular on these boards etc So I was ready to go with him. and he said ok, the deposit will be $500, send it as soon as possible. I said ok, well, i have to check with my FI and see if this is something he wants to do.. Jack was VERY pushy about the deposit.. he said that I HAVE TO SEND IT IMMEDIATELY because he has two brides coming in THIS WEEK (week of december 13) and they have MY date (march 12, 2005) and they will probably book. So I was so upset, because first of all it was christmas time, and we had a year and a half until the wedding.. MY FI said it sounded good, but he wanted to MEET with him, personally, and see his work in person. We live in Georgia, so it was going to be tough. Jack wouldn't do it, until we sent a deposit. so money was definately a HUGE issue with him. (this is my opinion and experience, take it as you will, please do not bash me!!!)
So, then I meet Laurie on line here, I had asked a question about a vase, and she is SO SWEET.. She sent me hundreds of pictures, of all different pink and white flowers.. she was so patient. She gives me her individual attention. se has never told me how big her company is and how many brides she services.. etc.. she just makes sure that I am happy. You feel like you are her only client. I have asked her thousands of questions.and her work is beautiful. she said she would even meet me at my hall with two sample CP's to see how I like them.. She will wait for a deposit..
So, I've had two experiences with both florists.. needless to say I am going with laurie.. it depends on what you want.. I want quality product, service, and customer care.. and I have found all of that in Laurie.. I am sure Jack is an awesome florist.. his work is beautiful.. but, it's not what I want.. out of the hour I was on the phone with him, he bragged about himself compared to other florists on the Island.. Ok, to put it shortly our personalities just clashed.. GOOD LUCK.. anymore help.. fm me..

I too am a Laurie fan. I met with a ton of florists..probably more than I should have. No one stood out to me as giving me really personal attention and made me feel special. All the florists came in about the same price give or take $300. When I met with Laurie not only did she bring a ton of pics and ideas, but she worked with me on my budget. She really gave me that personal attention and you can tell she loves what she does. She is reallt detail orientated and that was important to me. I recently posted my CP, so you can see them if you do a search. Good luck. You have to find someone you feel comfortable with and TRUST!!!

I never met with Laurie, although she gave me a quote and it was comparable to Jacks. I went with Jack because I felt very comfortable with him when I met him and he had some great ideas. I met with two other very popular florists on here, and while I was confident they would do a good job, I left Jacks feeling really excited. My experience with him has been very positive so far. He has always promptly returned my calls and was never pushy with me when I told him I had to speak to FH before I did anything and wanted to bring him down to meet with Jack. Meet with them both and and choose based upon your experience.

Well, aside from TOO MANY OTHER THINGS TO MENTION, I also got the 'You have to book me immediately and the self-praise, etc.' speech.
I would DEFINITELY meet with Laurie. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about her work AND her business etiquette. She seems truly concerned about the bride, not bragging about herself and demanding immediate payment.
Also, I would do through research on any of your vendors, including checking their track record on the BBB and anywhere else you can find information. It's your special, once-in-a-lifetime day. So, make sure you are 100% comfortable with all your vendor choices.

i never met with laurie, but i saw her work at the june GTG and it was impressive. i agree with minniebride; do your research before you decide, meet with both of them to get an idea of who you mesh with. i booked with jack and rose b/c i liked the attention he gave me at our first visit. he had great ideas for our wedding and i liked the pictures that he showed us. my fh got along with him too and that pretty much sealed it for us.

I am a J&R fan - BUT becuase I meet him and saw his work - To be honest the boards do push him ALOT - BUT you should meet them both and make your on decision about them, Dont let the boards do it for you - Its so hard to fins great vendors - My only thing about J&R was he needed an answer within a week from the time we met with him - I made him my last appointment for that reason...

I am meeting with Laurie on Tuesday! So far I have only communicated with florists through FM and email... Laurie stood out because like the other girls said she really cares about what you want and she is so sweet!!! Meet with both and then decide. Don't let others make the decision for you. I'm sure Jack is a good florist also...if not then why do so many people use him!
