I'm going to go to both florists for estimates. For those of you who chose one of them, please tell me what you loved best about them? What 'did it' for you in booking them?

I can throw in my two cents..
Just from THE EMAIL ALONE that Jack sent me I didn't like him .. already there was pressue to 'hurry up and make an appointment to see me' because your date might be taken and you'll be out of luck, etc. Not to mention all the singing of his own praises, which always turns me off. If you are well liked and respeted (and obviously Jack has his fans) then there is no need to 'toot your own horn,' so to speak. Let you WORK and SERVICE speak for itself!
Laurie, on the other hand, was super-sweet even from the 1st email she sent! Totally non-pushy. And just in our correspondence and talking over this last week, I'm already excited about meeting with her. She definitely seems accomodating to whatever 'your vision' is of your wedding!
I meet her this upcoming Wedneday and I simply cannot wait!!
BUT .. as others have said . ALL vendors have their good and bad points. If we all chose the same exact vendors for everything, we'd all have identical weddings. So use your own judgement and don't let the boards sway you TOO much

We booked J&R. I had heard some good things about him and some bad. FH and I decided to meet with him ourselves to see. We decided to book with him because he seemed to really know what he was doing and also seemed to love what he does. We also thought that their work was beautiful. When we met with him, he was the complete opposite of other brides' experiences with him. He was not pushy at all with us. Believe me, I HATE when people are pushy with me. I don't care how good they are, I will walk away. I really think that you should go and judge for yourself. You may love J&R and you may hate them but at least you will be making a decision based on your own experiences and not someone elses. JMO Good Luck!

I booked Jack and Rose. The reason I booked is because of his creativity and passion for his work. All I can say is meet with him and judge ON YOUR OWN. There are plenty of girls who have booked Jack, as well as various florists on this sight. Everybody has a reason for liking or disliking a vendor. Good Luck!
i agree... and we booked jack for the same reason... also he gave us the lowest price

Just keep in mind that the lowest price isn't always the best. You need to look beyond the price, and DO YOUR RESEARCH! Things aren't always as they appear...

Definitely meet with both. I have not used J&R yet but thus far he has been a pleasure. I had a couple of conversation with LA Blossom and found them to be equally nice, but went J&R for a bunch of reasons. No vendor is perfect. Defintely go see both, and and make YOUR OWN decisons. Good Luck

as a newlywed, i figured i would add my two cents on this - we actually booked with j&r - and i guess i missed the whole controversy on him - but we had a wonderufl experience - the flowers were gorgeous and he was so porfessioanl and creative to work with. he enevr pushed us - which nis not what i can say for other florists! we neevr saw la blossom (hadn't heard about it then!) but i woudl echo what everyone else says and give everyone a shot and deicde for yourself!! good luck and happy flower hunting!!

We used Jack & Rose... He did an amazing job! The price for the package was low and he threw in a lot of extras.

Just wanted to add that I got my contract before I gave Jack and Rose my deposit.

We booked Jack and Rose too. I would never leave a deposit without having a contract. We got ours the night we booked.
I looked up Jack and they have a couple write ups.. nothing for Laurie.. I don't think she's registered with them ( if that's how it works..)

make it THREE you know of!! Ladies, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do THOROUGH research on your vendors, no matter what anyone says - good or bad!! There are MANY MANY wonderful vendors to choose from. Don't sell yourself short, and remember that something that seems too good to be true, PROBABLY IS.
