As an FYI, I believe Laurie had surgery recently so she asked for what I was looking for via email and then gave me an estimated quote..

I was going to look into her but did not like the fact she wouldnt meet with any 07 brides till 06.

Thanks ladies....
I have been corresonding via e-mail with her also but seems to take days to respond to you.
When she does there are no appologies... it's as if there were no delays on her part.
To me this seems a bit unprofessional.

Did u experience delays in her responding to you.
Granted she had sugery... but she needs to have a back up plan.

I thought she was great - and did a wonderful job on my flowers. And, she's affordable, she'll find a way to work with your budget and is knowledgeable about the venues so she can recommend size, etc. I think if you do a search on here you'll find most brides LOVED her.

okay sounds good... but what is your overall experience working with her and dealing with her buisness wise.
Riht now i am feeling a little leery with how she responds to e-mails.

Sometimes it took a few days for a response but I never had any problems with her. When I had a lot of changes - or wanted her opinion, she helped out a lot. It's no excuse, but maybe her slow responding is due to the holidays or her recent surgery? Also, she was great in that I live in Forest Hills so I met her at a Starbucks in Nassau instead of having to travel out to Huntington.

Due to her recent surgery, I was in contact with her thru email. Not particularly happy my experience with her.
I was totally understanding about her surgery, but didn’t understand why it took so long to get responses from her. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt since it was the holidays and all. When I did finally get a reply from her she said, 'Looking over the items that you have listed, I am sorry but I won't be able to stay within your budget....Lot's of luck to you.' I was surprised because alot of the of the other vendors on this board were able to work with my budget. It was very disappointing, since I heard good things about her.

I liked Laurie alot. We hit it off, she really seemed to understand what I wanted and she helped with some other stuff (like emailing me pictures of different cakes).

not to backup laurie..(we used her and she was awesome)
she just had surgery...she can barley walk and goes to theapy. we keep in touch every now and then and its been 9 months since my wedding...
in the mean time...to get somewhat of a feel to see laurie in action and my awesome centerpiece and flowers...
laurie was one of the spotlight vendors on the show
she is a great person to know, knows how to work with a budget....

I really like Laurie's work and really see myself going with her but I do not feel totally comfortable with the way she response to her e-mails. They are not answered in a timely fashion, which I think is really disappointing.
I did a search and over all it seems as if this is the way she respons to e-mailscts business on the reg. I have asked and this is the overall census. (And this is was before her surgery)
It is sooooo dissapointing b/c i REALLY like her work.
Should I just ignore this and still inquire more about her services?

I used Laurie for my wedding and then again for another party.
She is absolutely fabulous in every way. She is the ONLY vendor who I would recommend 100% and this says a lot because I don't even recommend my family members who are 'in the business'.

When I decided to cancel my initial florist one month before the wedding, Laurie came through with some quick quotes. In the end I didn't use her, but I certainly appreciated her professionalism and quick call back/pricing.

I left a message for her months ago and then emailed her....no response. I posted this and within minutes, I got a 'sarcastic' message from her saying she had someone interested in my date and the reason why she didn't call was because she was waiting to hear if they booked. She then proceeded to say, well they haven't so call me back.
Yeah, ok. Could you possibly just hit reply and say I am waiting on a possible booking for your date??!!

I can only speak for my experience with her and she was absolutely amazing. She was able to provide me with every request I had and did it all well under my flower budget. For a vendor that was only contracted to arrange my centerpieces and bouquets, she went above and beyond what was expected of her. As for any email inquiries, I believe it did take her a couple of days to respond. But honestly it never bothered me because she always responded to each email I sent her.

A lot of my friends used her and were so happy with her. She did the flowers at the WOTY last year and they were gorgeous!
